What I Tweeted, 2009-08-30 Edition

August 30, 2009 by krisis

My tweets of the last week:

  • @Bsimi I was happy that wound up a single. The opening salvo on that disc is pretty extraordinary. in reply to Bsimi #
  • Must practice. RT @Iconic88 You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks – Winston Churchill in reply to Iconic88 #
  • @JeremyMeyers maybe you want them the most? in reply to JeremyMeyers #
  • Now slightly regretting the quart of ice cream I consumed yesterday. #
  • Worst of all Monday mistakes: I forgot my iPod! Will have to fall back to pandora for the day; the only CDs I keep here are Arcati Crisis. #
  • Contemplating a very rare self-initiated celebration of my birthday next month. This year, with all its peculiarities, warrants celebration. #
  • Have you checked http://blame-a-thon.com today? Team #blamedrewscancer is doing an awesome job of highlighting what we have planned for 9/9. #
  • Unexpectedly rewatching PUSH with commentary. Appreciating it even more – wonderful handheld appraching w/naturalistic acting. #
  • @Cecilyk Push is a gritty superhero movie, which is probably why the book Push became the movie Precious. Haven't seen that. in reply to Cecilyk #
  • @SarahRobinson I am usually HUGELY anti bday party. Thinking it might be nice to have people i enjoy over for dinner. Tired of going out. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • I didn't have a b-day party from age five to age 19, and not another proper one since then (though now I have outings) @SarahRobinson #
  • @Cecilyk I've been reading good pre-hype about it. This is popcorn, but the aesthetic is great. Much more comic book than comic book movies. in reply to Cecilyk #
  • I am a great ADR detector. I just said, "wow, I think she's almost all ADR," and then the director says, "we had to ADR a lot of her here." #
  • ADR is one of those things that boggles me. Matching the tone, sync, and performance of your original performance? Not sure I could do it. #
  • @SarahRobinson That's why I want one! I feel like this has really been a year to mark with some sort of occassion. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • Oooo. Garrison Starr initmate house concert in Media, PA the weekend before my birthday. Could that be my outing? #
  • Installed @smcphilly's awesome panel on Social Media on Social Good. @gloriabell speaking now; @brimil on the panel. #
  • OMG, @brimil being a communications rock star on the panel right now. I'm always dumbstruck when I hear #blamedrewscancer in a nutshell. #
  • Now talking about pancreatic cancer on behalf of http://pancan.org. Hard to raise awareness for a cancer that's so deadly, so quickly. #
  • "If the message is right, and the story is there, it has an amazing impact [no matter the] communications channel." #
  • Talking about @pancan, making charities more social, even for glancing contact or one-time donations. #
  • Now @melitami talking about how @twestival came to be. #
  • Original flavor @twestival brought water wells to over 17k people. The next Twestival is LOCAL flavored, with each city choosing a charity. #
  • "The whole point is to globally unite people for one cause." This is what social media for social good does – distributes support. #
  • @radiocolin OMG, can we have a first two season marathon?!!? I got addicted over the summer. in reply to radiocolin #
  • Panel: Crowdsource charity so that local efforts can customize to the culture of that community. More powerful than national campaigns. #
  • Benefits of SM for charity? Instantly viral. Connects new/young energy to small/insular networks. Builds community quickly w/x-communication #
  • Talking about difficulty in harnessing crowd-generated media/chatter in a more centralized resource people can experience. Make it a TEAM. #
  • I love that this panel is as much about the audience enriching the social causes of the panel as the panel enriching us as audience. #
  • @anniemal Am I finally going to introduce myself to you in person now? At @whuffaoke I was too busy fretting over song choices :) in reply to anniemal #
  • O! Social activity for social media for social good. @anniemal breaking us out to brainstorm as groups. Love it. Great @smcphilly panel. #
  • Brainstorming for @northernhomefc, an orphanage and support system for local children active since 1853. #
  • Going to try to translate these suggestions to be useful to all charities… hold please… #
  • Charities succeed when they tell stories – from people they are assisting, but also people who have "graduated" from support. #
  • Identify your top needs/goals as a charitable org, and make sure you strategically and clearly communicate about them. #
  • Be prepared for your skeptics. Know the answers/statistics to respond with to make your cause believable, credible, and compelling. #
  • Identify the size of the problem – is your cause seeking to fill a small, short-term need, or a larger, hard-to-satisfy need? #
  • Understand HOW you are and can be viral. Find people who will be viral through their familial or personal connections based on your cause. #
  • Never ignore education! Even when you can't raise money or reach a goal, every piece of outreach you do has the potential to pay back later. #
  • BTW, I am @smcphilly Social Media for Social Good, brainstorming strategies for charity getting started on SM; in this case @northernhomefc #
  • Don't ignore the economics of non-giving connections. Every connection you make who will talk about, link to, or RT you expands your reach. #
  • Reach out to people employed in the channel you benefit. "They can be your advocates, driving people to your group." says @brimil. #
  • Talking about #12for12k! YES! How they did a great job of being ubiquitous. Importance of strong & consistent branding for your campaign. #
  • @dannybrown Positive words and awareness for #12for12k here @smcphilly! #
  • @sifelaver Puts a fine point on it, no? Which charity did you just give to & which did you JOIN? How does it apply to SM strategy in general in reply to sifelaver #
  • Look at the twitters of local reporters. What are they writing, and how are they generating those stories? How can you be that story? #
  • Personalize your charity chatter – who is your voice? Why are they the one speaking for you? #
  • Harness your present volunteer-base as your natural advocates, but start that push offline. #
  • My tweets are up on our panel jumbo-tron. Holla, @smcphilly jumbotron! #
  • Holla? Holler? Holah? What is the right way to type that? #
  • Charities need to itemize their results. What do the smallest amounts of giving do? Sometimes some BIG things. #
  • Make an editorial plan for your social media presence. Know what you're promoting by week or month, even if it's not every blog/tweet. #
  • Me: If your charity is something people have misconceptions about (hello, "orphanage"), use the platform to retell the story your way. #
  • Use photos! Don't get trapped in being a text-only channel. A photo of the result of your campaign is meaningful. #
  • I have to say, this @smcphilly brainstorm session is gold. Yes, we're talking face-to-face with @northernhomefc, but it applies to everyone. #
  • Social media duties must be spread out in your organization. Even if one person is the voice, many people can be the brains. #
  • "Build a personality around your startup." Don't be afraid to make a charity a little personal about the staffers, even if it's a bit inane. #
  • Be a source of good resources for your industry. It will lead people to you who care about what you care about. #
  • @billlublin Ha, do you need to come over and unleash your fuller thoughts? Last time I tweeted AND took minutes, but that was a little much. in reply to billlublin #
  • "Just make a commitment." Stopping midway hurts you more than not talking. (@gloriabell dropping gems up there) #
  • @billlublin Oo, almost went pre instead of Android, but my fat thumbs didn't fit on that keyboard :) in reply to billlublin #
  • Great advice: get people to care before you ask for something. Definitely has worked for #blamedrewscancer. #
  • Let it be known that I am in love with @purplecar. #
  • The @smcphilly mtg spilled out in a major way to tir na nog. We're pretty easy to spot, if you're in the area. #
  • Wiped after a long day of work and social media, but brimming with new ideas. Need to switch gears to finishing up my blog's 9th b-day post! #
  • Chatted w/ @EileenOBrien about @23andMe, how it can be overwhelming just to contemplate what it could reveal. Pro for some, con for others. #
  • @mkaisr Awesome to meet you tonight! I assume you'll be at @twestival? I volunteered myself for whatever @gloriabell can use me for. in reply to mkaisr #
  • @kristinbrennan Thank you so much for you compliment last week. I've oved writing since I was old enough to type (7), & I hope I never stop. in reply to kristinbrennan #
  • Struggling with this post more than I need to. I set such a crazy standard for myself last year ( http://bit.ly/1P3tSJ ), hard to match. #
  • @chiah PRO: Personal empowerment. Adopt preventive measures early. Understand impact of your lineage. Contribute to research. Just cool. in reply to chiah #
  • @chiah CON: Daunting without 1:1 consult. May not yield actionable results, just more questions. Philosophically fatalist by definition? in reply to chiah #
  • @chiah This is silly, but do you guys have JUST the test vials? Could be fun to have spitting competitions w/fastest to fill getting a kit. in reply to chiah #
  • @EileenOBrien If you have a chance you should tweet your 140 version of our @23andMe chat from @smcphilly to @chiah, their community manager #
  • Sleep has taken precedence over banging my post into perfection. I wanted to post it at 9am, but I'd rather still love it at 9am in a year. #
  • SInce I am not forthcoming with my blog-iversary post I think I may count down my top ten posts of the year on Twitter tomorrow. Fun? #
  • Blah, I am home sick and working remotely. Not how I planned to spend my day, considering I even scheduled a few tweets for my work hours. #
  • Would it be ridiculous to put my 19" monitor on the coffee table so I can work from the couch? It sounds less ridiculous in type… #
  • Today is my blog's 9th anniversary, which is ridiculous to be saying. I'll be counting (tweeting?) down my favorite 9 posts of the year. #
  • Being sick would seem fair if I was out late carousing every night, but all I've done is work late & split a plate of calamari w/ @brimil. #
  • @jessicaharts YAY, thank you! Despite the sick day I am pretty excited. I hope people enjoy the top 9 posts. in reply to jessicaharts #
  • @mkaisr I honestly treat this as more of a holiday than my actual birthday :) in reply to mkaisr #
  • #9 of my top 9 posts of my 9th year: http://bit.ly/Dmldd – wherein I am nearly ejected from David's Bridal. Twice. #
  • Haha, I am totally working remotely with dual screens from my couch. God how I love being a nerd. #
  • This is surreal – home life on screen to my left. Work life on screen to my right. In my underwear drinking a 12oz glass of OJ on the couch. #
  • @mikeyzito Really? I LOVE to work remote every so often. I can get crazy-focused on work when I'm at home. #
  • @mikeyzito Oo, yes, in my DB days I probably would not have found it quite so charming. Now that I project manage it can be a good thing. in reply to mikeyzito #
  • #8 of my top 9 posts of my 9th year http://bit.ly/2WVh9M – wherein I meet @brimil and have way-out dreams about the financial holocaust. #
  • @PurpleCar @brimil & I seriously did a double take when you told us how old you/your-kids are. We both guessed low by 8+ years ;) in reply to PurpleCar #
  • I'm celebrating the 9th anniversary of my blog today! It's the longest running in Philly, and I counting down my 9 top posts of the year. #
  • @PurpleCar It's totally not old! The gist of our conversation was more, "man, she is pretty freaking cool for any age, but she looks 30." in reply to PurpleCar #
  • @iWIC3 LOL re: your comment. I was predisposed to like Kelly Clarkson long before she was on AI. Big voice, Motown influence, big hooks. in reply to iWIC3 #
  • #7 of my top 9 posts of my 9th year: http://bit.ly/yVXp – wherein we are briefly stranded in London on our honeymoon. Hilarity ensues. #
  • @realestatechick Thanks! I waffle over whether it's an achievement or just stubbornness, but I think 9yrs of stubborn *is* an achievement :) in reply to realestatechick #
  • @iWIC3 WOW, really? That is crazy. I love her book of influences so much, & Elise & I had just started dating, so KC holds a special place. in reply to iWIC3 #
  • @iPhillyChitChat Thank you! There's much more audio/video to come in my 10th season (holy shit, my 10th season, that's crazy to type out) in reply to iPhillyChitChat #
  • All of the honeymoon posts rank pretty high on my list of favorites; you can read them all here – http://bit.ly/3gOPxp #
  • @paullucci Thank you! I try to never take for granted how much of a positive force it has been for me as a person and a writer. in reply to paullucci #
  • @iWIC3 BTW, we wanted @downtownharvest for @blameathon, but they were missing a band member for that day :( in reply to iWIC3 #
  • @weezapa Thank you for the congrats! I still can't believe how long it's been. Good lord, the concept of 100 Philly years is pretty daunting in reply to weezapa #
  • @iWIC3 We actually just got Paul Dateh for the main spot for this event. Did you check out the Blame Drew's Cancer song? AMAZING. in reply to iWIC3 #
  • #6 of my top 9 posts of my 9th year http://bit.ly/4AD61e & http://bit.ly/WNgAm – my best audio and video recordings, respectively. #
  • Last minute blog b-day open mic hosting gig tonight, 223 South Street at Blue Banana. Always great music, always great food! Stop by. #
  • You should listen to Saving Grace – http://bit.ly/1fVQwU – definitely my best recording of last year, even though it wasn't in a Top 9 post. #
  • Amazing to hear and see those recordings, compared to what I was doing in Year 1 of my blog (terrifyingly, that's still up for you to hear). #
  • Didn't think I would spend my sick day working on PR for #blamedrewscancer with @digitas_health & hosting an open mic, but such is my life. #
  • Have you heard the ridiculously awesome #blamedrewscancer theme song? http://bit.ly/YZjD6 The mad-talented @pauldateh headlines @blameathon. #
  • (Seriously, could @pauldateh's voice be any more perfect? And then he multi-tracks a whole boy-band of himself? Amazing.) #
  • @therealdesh I might have to turn off freaking canonical links. Great for SEO, but they mess me up royally. in reply to therealdesh #
  • @jonrosenberg You and the Simpsons both, eh? in reply to jonrosenberg #
  • Okay, need a nap from this media-rich sick day or else I suspect this sick day is going to extend to be a sick week. #
  • @therealdesh the long ones are better for SEO. I fucking hate them; they're inspecific & easy to break. I will only link internally with #s in reply to therealdesh #
  • #5 of my top 9 posts of my 9th year http://bit.ly/C4rwK – wherein Gina and I discuss the ramifications of Outliers and sing harmony. #
  • I #blamedrewscancer if you don't know about @NorthernHomeFC, a venerable charity working in Philly that is just launching on social media. #
  • Just $20 buys a public school uniform RT @northernhomefc Help us provide school uniforms for 100 kids in 100 hours http://bit.ly/hn6i5 #
  • My countdown of my 9 favorite posts of the 9th year of my blog on my 9th blog-iversary continues with a familiar photo (and hash tag)… #
  • @brimil @sifelaver RT @DannyBrown 14 key skills and attributes for new PR professionals http://bit.ly/gvCN0 from the ever-smart @davefleet #
  • @SarahPsyDeal They were the featured charity @smcphilly last night; spent half the meeting talking about ground-up SM strategy for nonprofit in reply to SarahPsyDeal #
  • #4 of my top 9 posts of my 9th year: http://bit.ly/xqfaw & http://bit.ly/d1VEM – my skydive photo and the start of the story behind it. #
  • Okay, now we're into the heavy hitters – unquestionably my top 3 most memorable posts from my 9th year of blogging. #
  • #3 of my top 9 posts of my 9th year http://bit.ly/mcmPV – wherein I live-blog my wedding vows. (not really) (but kinda) #
  • @gloriabell Thank you, my dear! Apparently I had too much fun carousing with you SM types, as I grumpily on SEL on this big day :( in reply to gloriabell #
  • I should add that during our the physical wedding I ad libbed a vow about Battlestar Galactica, to the amusement of E and our geeky crowd. #
  • What 2 posts from my 9th year of blogging could I like more than my wedding vows? They couldn't be more different from each other… #
  • @DJMarilyn New! We were major addicts, would wake up early on Saturdays to watch new episodes on sci-fi's web site. in reply to DJMarilyn #
  • @NorthernHomeFC Can you tell us what goes into a uniform? Shirt, pants? Shoes? Also, many people don't know Philly public requires them! in reply to NorthernHomeFC #
  • #2 of my top 9 posts of my 9th year: http://bit.ly/vzYcR – a stream of consciousness on my childhood drug-addict neighbor. #
  • @spillsmusic Thank you! Not all of it is in that stream-of-consciousness, but it fit the story. Had been waiting in me for a long time. in reply to spillsmusic #
  • My favorite post of the year is next, and it's #1 because of what it says about my personality, not my politics. #
  • It also makes me cry every damn time I read it, which is maybe not what you want your favorite post of the year to do? I'm not sure. #
  • @caroline815 That post is golden. One of the most practical and well-reasoned blog posts about the comm. world I've read this year. in reply to caroline815 #
  • #1 of my top 9 posts of my 9th year: http://bit.ly/mAt2W – wherein I (& my mother) react emotionally to the election of our 44th president #
  • I struggled with making my Obama post #1 of yr9, because outside of elections CK is so apolitical. But, it's the writing I am most proud of. #
  • Meanwhile, I have my 9th anniversary commemorative bombshell of a post waiting in the wings to be posted at 9pm tonight. #
  • @Sheamus Mixed opinion. Yes, it's not media-rich. But, research recently shows the lack of prose to be a myth. Kids write more than ever. in reply to Sheamus #
  • @eddidit Thank you very much. But, you made me succumb to re-reading it, and now I'm crying. in reply to eddidit #
  • @Sheamus If Twitter created an official media-rich wrapper it would be teen-mecca, supplanting texting. Teens don't want the clients/apps. in reply to Sheamus #
  • @Sheamus A Twitter-wrap that embedded media more like Fbook statuses, maybe also previewed links, and synced to their text msg contact list. in reply to Sheamus #
  • @eddidit Certainly not! I just usually reserve it for Julianne Moore movies and the end of Harry Potter novels :) in reply to eddidit #
  • Off to redeem my long-overdue sick-day nap. Hope to see you tonight @ Blue Banana, 223 South St, where I'll guest host the awesome open mic. #
  • @eddidit Nic Cage may negate the Julianne Moore effect. in reply to eddidit #
  • @schmidtultra Whoa, I love perogies, where the hell is that? in reply to schmidtultra #
  • @Sheamus I didn't mean to imply anything other than 140 updates – just the inclusion of media inline, much like tweettree.com. in reply to Sheamus #
  • Warming up for my guest spot hosting the open mic @ Blue Banana, 223 South Street. Starts at 8pm. Usually really strong music there. #
  • Willing to bet I'm the only male singer/songwriter in Philly who does an hour of vocal warmups for an open mic hosting gig. #
  • @SarahPsyDeal We are a rare breed! I also know one here. Acoustic guitar alt-tunings freaks are your best bet to find them. Also, DMB fans. in reply to SarahPsyDeal #
  • Miiiiiight debut my cover of "Poker Face" tonight. Still not totally confident in the original key. #
  • The voice and I are not on best terms tonight. Going to have to get through this just on attitude. #
  • @johhnny5 sometimes the attitude obscures the performance a little too much, but that might be the effect I'm looking for tonight. in reply to johhnny5 #
  • Waiter at open mic warned me that last week was dead. Let's hope this doesn't turn into a night of solo Peter; totally not in that groove. #
  • @PurpleCar Um, holy shit? in reply to PurpleCar #
  • A shout-out for my blog from @phillyist! RT @PurpleCar Woah! @krisis has been blogging 9 YEARS & is all over the news: http://tr.im/xdir #
  • Blowing me away out of nowhere, male/female hip hop duo The Mighty Ones. Totally unlike anything I've seen at open mics. Female emcee! #
  • I need some video of this shit. Good lord. #
  • @sifelaver DUDE. in reply to sifelaver #
  • Okay, they are The Mighty Onez, they are at http://youtube.com/itsnoelz – they are live from Philly and not your average hip hop duo. #
  • @bethharte I just said "tweet this shit out" in a spontaneous and non-ironic way. #
  • @caroline815 In the face of that overwhelming response how can they still fill the mag with airbrushed women? She should be a cover model! in reply to caroline815 #
  • Don't feel significantly better than I did yesterday – not enough time spent parked on the couch drinking OJ. Still, heading into work. #
  • @daisie981 At the Wednesday night open mic I guest-hosted @ Blue Banana, which tends to be hip hop / open mic. Think they're coming back. in reply to daisie981 #
  • @daisie981 Did you check out their music? http://www.myspace.com/themightyonez & follow @itsnoelz in reply to daisie981 #
  • @NorthernHomeFC I'm going to share your story in my United Way meeting this morning, and talk about getting you to come to our Agency event. in reply to NorthernHomeFC #
  • You should read this valuable post if you are in PR/SM RT @DannyBrown 14 key skills & attributes for new PR pros http://bit.ly/gvCN0 #
  • @Cecilyk Not feeling well but merry none-the-less. You? Client troubles abated yet? in reply to Cecilyk #
  • @inflamatorywrit Thank you for your kind comment on my anniversary post. I have been remiss in keeping up with your blog; must change that. in reply to inflamatorywrit #
  • @itsnoelz Hey, are you guys with a label? Also, ever play in Philly with a live band, or are you just w/your tracks right now? Just curious. in reply to itsnoelz #
  • @DannyBrown Danny, I am cheerful despite myself. Need to catch up with you sometime soon (and write you a blog!) How are you? in reply to DannyBrown #
  • @DannyBrown What's coming up for you? I still need to give to your August charity! Also, if your panel gets picked I am so going to SXSW :) in reply to DannyBrown #
  • @DannyBrown Can't wait to hear! I need to speak to @SarahRobinson about becoming a part of your network of supporting blogs. in reply to DannyBrown #
  • As if I'm not already obscenely high-energy at work, @brimil just joined another team with me. With her around I never need caffeine. #
  • @SarahRobinson Didn't have to sing too much, as we had awesome turnout. Wound up dueting w/a wicked harmonica player at the end of the night in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @SarahRobinson Need to reconcile my quality obsession. Snce my old stuff still circulates on the web I tend to over-screen new content. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @mkaisr The Avery pop-out ones are handy as well. I use them for everything – business cards, download cards, thank you cards… in reply to mkaisr #
  • @SarahRobinson Did I not give you a zip of various songs? I thought I did… in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @SarahRobinson Ahh, shareable stuff. It's being worked on. My life is starting to feel like a minefield ;) in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @SarahRobinson Did you have any further social MP3 suggestions beyond Grooveshark? in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @cropulis I love that album so freaking much. in reply to cropulis #
  • @Cecilyk @anniemal Will there be an official release of notes from the panel? I can send you what I took from the brainstorm, if it helps. #
  • @anniemal Awesome! I don't know if I'm on the wiki – is that just on the FB group? in reply to anniemal #
  • @cropulis That is pretty peculiar. I remember how I felt in 1999 about people enthusing about 10-yr-old records. It wasn't positive ;) in reply to cropulis #
  • @PhillyMarketing Awesome, thanks! in reply to PhillyMarketing #
  • While I'm working on Social Media plans for every other person and their brother, does someone want to work on one for me? ;-) #
  • @NorthernHomeFC You've said backpacks a few times – are the backpacks a part of the uniform project? I'm confused. in reply to NorthernHomeFC #
  • @khartline Indeed, maybe if I just planned for myself under another name? Meanwhile, was just going to @ you – how is life after the tour? in reply to khartline #
  • @Voice333 That sounds awesome! I will stay tuned so I can keep my NYC friends up to date. in reply to Voice333 #
  • I'm sorry, did Krycek just KISS Mulder? I totally do not remember that from previous viewings. #
  • @drew McNabb @ WR? Are you kidding? I might have to run to a bar and see this. in reply to drew #
  • Incognito for my outing to Vicky Spaeth's show at the Tin: baggy clothes, hair tied back, wearing glasses. Hopefully can do some writing. #
  • Actually, I sort of look like me from high school on a non-glam-rock day. I could have tied a flannel around my waist for full effect. #
  • Do you cultivate a specific image? Is there a certain way you can "dress down" so that your friends might not recognize you? #
  • Tucked into the corner of the Tin by the sound board. Hoping all of V's friends come through and fill up the room; she's going to rock. #
  • Yeah, incognito until I opened my fat mouth. Now everyone knows I'm here. #
  • Pulled up a table with my dear friend Andrea Nardello, who is recording her new LP right now. Can't wait! MySpace: http://bit.ly/8jukW #
  • WOW. Sierra Hurtt opened w/an acappella song and is now doing a muscular acoustic version of Metric's "Help I'm Alive." http://bit.ly/t48m7 #
  • Crowds at the Tin have had a handful of rude, chatty moments lately. Is it because a lot of the local artists are from the open mic scene? #
  • Elise doesn't want to come back after the last show we saw, probably the most disrespectful crowd I've ever been in – which is saying a lot. #
  • @sarahrobinson Just about the full repertoire of Arcati Crisis tunes now on Blip.fm … working on my solo stuff. #
  • Full complement of Peter Marinari & Arcati Crisis tunes now available to stream & tweet on Blip.fm (thanks @sarahrobinson!) #
  • Okay, birthday girl slash headliner Victoria Spaeth has demanded my presence down in front, so no more laptop. MySpace: http://bit.ly/j3IOO #
  • @iFreddie Just saw you listening to blip – my solo and band demos are all up now – Peter Marinari & Arcati Crisis, respectively. in reply to iFreddie #
  • @iFreddie That song is truly a true story. It could not be more literal. in reply to iFreddie #
  • @iFreddie Hmph, that shouldn't be on there. That's an old demo of a band song. in reply to iFreddie #
  • @Cecilyk Had someone on the bus tell me my eyes had the look of someone who had been vomiting for several days. Otherwise, I'm great. in reply to Cecilyk #
  • Maybe I can manage a few #followfriday suggestions today? Let's see… #
  • I must highlight @sarahrobinson for #ff: a fantastic blogger, an inquisitive & responsive follower, & a supporter of @dannybrown & @12for12k #
  • @DannyBrown I can't access it at work, so it must be racy :) in reply to DannyBrown #
  • #ff: I had the good fortune to meet @mkaisr at @smcphilly. Super-cool guy with SM smarts & not nearly enough followers. Change that! #
  • @SarahRobinson I discovered there's lots of OLD stuff of mine on Blip, and since it doesn't pull year from the MP3 it's impossible to tell. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @SarahRobinson Except, the old stuff has crap audio quality, so if you hear a recording that sounds like crap, that's the old stuff. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @bonniekatt Hmm, I thought all the gap concerts had ended in the last week. in reply to bonniekatt #
  • @SarahRobinson Not when there's a 8yr-old clip of me singing into a pinhole mic pre-voice lessons compared to a current studio version. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @SarahRobinson Still, worth reminding myself occasionally. I do let perfection force me to idle in mediocrity. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @bonniekatt Clearly, since I jumped right on it! I actually saw someone last night who had done one of the shows, Sierra Hurtt. in reply to bonniekatt #
  • @khartline Your post on @equalman's "Is Social Media a Fad" is making its way around my workgroup today :) in reply to khartline #
  • @NorthernHomeFC A tip – if you start a tweet with an @ like @krisis only people who follow you AND know me will see it. in reply to NorthernHomeFC #
  • I think Sabra Chipolte Hummus has just overtaken Special K Red Berries w/Soy Milk as my favorite snack outside of France. #
  • (If you are wondering as to my favorite snack within France, the answer to that question was, "anything from FranPrix or a patisserie.") #
  • Getting my office in order, perhaps enough to record new songs? #
  • #tweetdeckfail, pt1: The default reverse-out text colors are awful. Changing settings kinda solves the issue, but may make menus unreadable. #
  • #tweetdeckfail, pt2: Unable to display all of my "following" in a single pane to choose from, so the groups are useless. #
  • I'm getting a little weary of not having web-synced groups to use across my four main PCs, but not tired enough to suffer through TweetDeck. #
  • Reading good things about Twitter app @mixero – could it be my savior? Waiting on a beta invite now. #
  • I know I should just wait for Seesmic to launch sync, they seem to be the developer that's got the right idea. Just need a mid-term solution #
  • @sierrahurtt Loved your cover of @metric's "Help I'm Alive" – great underground choice, great fit for your voice. #
  • @leahjones As long as it has an RSS feed you can, but not sure you could do both blogs at once – would need a combined RSS first. in reply to leahjones #
  • @leahjones I think I know how, hold please… in reply to leahjones #
  • @leahjones Make sure NOTES app is installed. Go to fb.com/ editnotes.php?id=(YOUR # HERE)&import in reply to leahjones #
  • @leahjones Or, go to "Add a Note," then click the NOTES icon along the top of the screen. You'll go to the main notes page for your page. in reply to leahjones #
  • @NorthernHomeFC No problem! Also, my co-worker Sheila emailed you an invite to our Agency event yesterday; let me know if you don't see it. in reply to NorthernHomeFC #
  • @leahjones Yeah, that page is useless. Click "Write a New Note." Then click the tiny "NOTES" icon at the top of the screen. Screenshot that? in reply to leahjones #
  • Awesome Business: internet on-demand radio @blipfm. Sent them a question 36hrs ago; got a prompt, friendly, super-helpful response. #
  • @leahjones I'd love to talk to you some more about your business & what you do – want to do similar to support local artists. in reply to leahjones #
  • Customer service @musician_friend always impresses the hell out of me. They're all so empowered to HELP. Sandy just rocked my recent order. #
  • @_djh I am so in love with you at this moment that I might have to tell my wife :) in reply to _djh #
  • @_djh Not only did it work, but in less than 5 minutes @mixero already does EVERYTHING that other clients have been missing. in reply to _djh #
  • Just the following handling ALONE makes @mixero the best Twitter client I have seen so far – like a Twitter/AIM mashup. #
  • Two of the best bills of September: 9/12, @suzybrownsongs CD release w/Beekeepers. 9/20, PaperTrees and Alexandra Day, who I ADORE! #
  • @platypusjones Just from the photo I'm thinking I'm going to like them…. in reply to platypusjones #
  • @platypusjones Don't like the gimmicky stuff on the MySpace, but I like My Time. Which is more indicative? in reply to platypusjones #
  • I sent @wockerjabby the longest email I think I have ever written. In 2001 we used to correspond in 2000-word missives; this was longer. #
  • Blasting @amandapalmer to an empty house and wailing my guts out. #
  • @snippyfish Huh? Have you been watching the animated bits of Hedwig with them? in reply to snippyfish #
  • Why must every new song be so much more difficult than the last one. Damn me and my progress. #
  • @johhnny5 Oo, I might do that! That's sponsored by my company, sortof. in reply to johhnny5 #
  • Just listened to my first recording of the new song – pretty rockin'! Worried that the chorus stays too low, but I fixed it. Needs a bridge. #
  • Did I lie or did my cells just change? I know I said that I would stick around. In 7 yrs our bodies rearrange; regenerate the common ground. #
  • I am more than slightly concerned about the leak that has developed just above my multi-thousand-dollar mixing setup… #
  • @joeross Luckily the leak is down a wall, so I can just pull it all away. But, scary – this room is, like, 3/4 my net worth. in reply to joeross #
  • I need to work ut othe vocal placement on my new one or it's going to blow me out each time I rehearse. Gs in mixed voice, Peter, not full. #
  • Why am I sitting on the couch watching highlights of Kelly Ripa? Seriously, is this why I stayed home from Elise's show? #
  • @dragonballyee The Groomlin, actually. in reply to dragonballyee #
  • Hmm. Must contemplate. RT @drew: So come on. if you could only follow FOUR people on Twitter, who would they be? #survivortwitter #
  • If could only follow four people, at the moment I think they'd be @gloriabell, @sarahrobinson, @amandapalmer, & @transitionaltee. All women! #
  • E back from her show; just played her the video of the new song and she LIKES it. More than "Love Me Not." She hardly ever likes new ones. #
  • New song went from a million disparate parts yesterday to kinda awesome pop song this am. Maybe called "Regenerate?" Possible video, later. #
  • @TransitionalTee Not only would I get to read and talk to you, but I'd probably still get to see the greatest hits of @dannybrown via RT :) in reply to TransitionalTee #
  • Memorizing the new song on the swings… http://twitpic.com/fv1yl #
  • Leithgow street swings. http://twitpic.com/fv24l #
  • On the fence about running out to the Downey's open mic. Pushed my voice pretty hard already on the new one, but could hang w/ @sierrahurtt #
  • @Insomniac_Love Also because of the $5 beers? I think for your birthday you shoudl go to Bob & Barbarba's in reply to Insomniac_Love #
  • Elizabethtown. Greatest movie that no one likes. I think it's our favorite movie as a couple. #
  • "You wanna be really great? Then have the courage to fail big and stick around. Make them wonder why you're still smiling." – Elizabethtown #
  • "It takes time to be funny, and it takes time to extract joy from life." – Elizabethtown #
