What I Tweeted, 2010-02-07 Edition

February 7, 2010 by krisis

My tweets of the last week:

  • @ryandaniel Is it bad that I was like, "OMG, where is this island you speak of???" But, really, I like a ton of the Grammy acts this year. in reply to ryandaniel #
  • Here's my 1 Grammy-snob comment: You voted a SONGWRITING Grammy to Beyonce & a production Grammy to Kings of Leon? Um, BIZARRO MUCH? WTF? #
  • This is anti-snob, so it's allowed: I love Taylor Swift winning AotY – a young, relevant, credible songwriter who plays an instrument. #
  • It's interesting how Social Media brings some accountability to award shows through outrage. Look, we got 10 best pictures noms out of it :) #
  • @YoungBillyMays So justly deserved! in reply to YoungBillyMays #
  • Honestly? We all know I love her, but Gaga's album has a weak back half. Five singles, but it's no Jagged Little Pill (ie, no filler). #
  • People who don't question status quo. RT @Alyssa_Milano: Your turn! What's the one thing that you would most like to change about the world? #
  • @LEMills I'm not a Swift fan, but the 2 times I've heard her live she was decent for a 20-yr-old girl. Definitely could use more development in reply to LEMills #
  • @jayvert @LEMills I honestly can't sing you the hook of any Swift song, so I'm talking out of my ass here ;) I'm just okay with a Gaga loss. in reply to jayvert #
  • Meanwhile, Beyonce sang You Oughta Know??? Grammys really were BIzarro tonight! #
  • @mmmeghan Ahh. That's the kind of fact that would probably require me liking her at all to know. in reply to mmmeghan #
  • @erlking Can't see how "Goats" just missed the cut amongst a lot of that pap. Do they all have toys & book deals in addition to being funny? in reply to erlking #
  • @jayvert The nomination process is just broken. It almost seems random. in reply to jayvert #
  • @ikepigott Still kicking myself that I didn't catch her on the area tour this fall, where that performance originated. in reply to ikepigott #
  • Good morning, fellow netizens! I feel legitimately energized on a Monday morning, for once. No pretense that I can make today awesome. You? #
  • @emmapersky You have already conquered this day! Proceed directly to Tuesday. in reply to emmapersky #
  • Screw Grammys; my team's big '09 web project won Gold in our industry awards! I'd like to thank the makers of all of my hair care products. #
  • @robisevil @melissa_shae 2009 Blue Cross Broad Street Run member website. It's at ibx.com/run09, but I think some features may be off now. #
  • @drawonthewalls @jayvert I already have a ticket, bitches :) #
  • Our first band gig of 2010, on a tight acoustic bill @ Dawson St. Pub on Sat 2/27. See invite for specials! http://bit.ly/atac1002 #
  • Bid on some truly lovely stuff in this Haiti benefit auction, where all winning bids will be MATCHED. http://tohaitiwithlove.squarespace.com #
  • Positive news today from BOTH of my Philly friends on a long-term job hunt. Is it a sign of a wider uptick in hiring, or just coincidence? #
  • @phillybosslady @not_pele Yes, referring to you and @amanda_nan, who are lamentably celebrating 26ths at the same time 17 blocks apart. #
  • I almost forgot a to post photo of my vintage corduroy blazer! http://twitpic.com/10xheq #
  • I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words how wonderful life is with @ladygaga in the world. #
  • Wow. I haven't been at a table with these sorts of powerful actors… maybe ever? I'm sortof just in awe, & this is just our 1st table read! #
  • 1st table read for Ms. Reardon Drinks a Little w/ @ocelotonaleash theatre co! http://twitpic.com/10yf5y #
  • And, at the top of Act II we've hit our first "entire table dissolving into tears of laughter" segment of the show. #
  • @SarahRobinson Really?! Our Ms. Reardon's actress's name is SARAH ROBINSON. Seriously. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @SusieGeeee I love it! The last show I teched for was in 2003 – a long time ago! in reply to SusieGeeee #
  • @SarahRobinson No! I kept meaning to tell you. It makes it even odder that you know the play. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @SarahRobinson No way! I did not know that. I want to import you!!! in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • And then we have a hard-core theatre analysis talk after read-through. I love this cast. I could not be more excited about this play. #
  • Big Blogger.com news: they're disabling FTP support starting in May. They say only .5% of users use FTP, and it is a major resource drain. #
  • I think it's a symptom of Blogger having lost the domain-blog battle to WordPress. They're consolidating to their strength: hosting content. #
  • @dixbert Indeed I am! I've been a Blogger detractor for a long time because I've seen them move in this direction. Just doesn't work for me. in reply to dixbert #
  • @timjahn I think it's a mistake to assume negative comments require a response: it legitmatizes them. I'm a fan of the Airforce assessment. in reply to timjahn #
  • @JettSuperior Ahh, you're right, it was March. I think this is a perfect time to defect to WordPress! in reply to JettSuperior #
  • @dixbert I think a mistake is viewing that .5% as small or fringe. They were driving the features/business until the path began to change. in reply to dixbert #
  • @timjahn I've come to agree w/the Airforce Response Assessment, that true Trolls require no response. Misguided, unhappy – they do. in reply to timjahn #
  • I presently have not one, but THREE red pens tucked behind my ear. #
  • @bglusman They are very large. As a child I was frequently compared to Spock. Those point-tipped ears have more pen-holding capacity. in reply to bglusman #
  • @cheryldoherty Sortof – for marking up print collateral. So many different kinds of papers/printing that the same pen doesn't work on all. in reply to cheryldoherty #
  • I'm pretty sure I am sick, which sucks, because I took a sick day last week and have been laying pretty low since then. Argh. #
  • @RobIsEvil both! ;) in reply to RobIsEvil #
  • Still sick. Headache making use of the computer distinctly not fun. Blargh. #
  • It took 16+ hours of sleep in a 24hr period, but I'm finally feeling slightly normal :) #
  • @bglusman Wish I could, but I'm still recovering from this mean chest cold. Hopefully in the coming weeks! in reply to bglusman #
  • @stagetrailers Thanks for the well wishes! Chest colds always freak me out the most, because if you don't rest well they kill vox for weeks. in reply to stagetrailers #
  • Still sick enough that climbing stairs is an adventure. It is 8:30 & the neighbors are blasting "The Best of My Love." Back up the stairs… #
  • At work. Not sick anymore – now just feel like I've been backed over by a truck a few times. Which is totally an improvement. #
  • There is now an edition of Monopoly that comes with debit cards and a calculator. IS NOTHING SACRED? #
  • @bengarvey I don't know that I've played start to finish with a group more than two or three times in my life. But, it is how I learned math in reply to bengarvey #
  • Just nabbed my tix to see @paramore with @ournameisfun! Considering buying some extras to sell or share, given the last sellout. #
  • @osiristhedark @youngbillymays Yes, but the versions usually still come with currency you have to count. To me banking is its hallmark. in reply to osiristhedark #
  • Carolyn just told me she saved a spot for me to do a song in the v-day show. Is there something you and I could make work in a week? #
  • @Not_Pele probably what? in reply to Not_Pele #
  • I was served an ad on FB for strapless panties. Yes, panties. Am I really the target audience for that? NSFW http://bit.ly/bLd9jW #
  • @Miketizzle411 It sucks that anyone is being discriminatory in a classroom, for any reason. I'm sorry you have to be in that position. in reply to Miketizzle411 #
  • If you are consuming media coverage of Jersey Shore you are part of the problem. The problem being the utter collapse of modern society. #
  • @heathie @nealwiser Having been down the shore numerous times as a child I've experienced all of the JS reality I need for one lifetime. in reply to heathie #
  • @platypusjones @purpletronic I think I may hook up my SNES and play Super Mario Land in honor of the snow day. That, or go see Avatar again. #
  • I'm not sure how it is I'm seeing Paramore for the third time in two years. This stuff just happens. #
  • I keep waiting for someone on Facebook to make me their celebrity doppelganger. I don't think anyone has awesome enough hair to make it work #
  • @thatdrew They rock every time. I don't love the new record on record, but it was fantastic in concert. in reply to thatdrew #
  • @SarahRobinson Oh yes. Complements on my hair have increased to near daily frequency. I may never recover. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • I think this weekends snow-in might finally produce my essay on how Katy Perry is single-handedly destroying feminism. #
  • @purpletronic How is it Avatar beer? Is it blueberry? in reply to purpletronic #
  • @purpletronic Me neither. I only like wheat bears, and the occasional lager. in reply to purpletronic #
  • Obsessing over LPs from two randomly acquired artists: Jets Overhead & Mozella. They've killed me every time they come on my new music mix. #
  • Mozella is like a more upbeat, girl-groupy version of Adele. Have yet to hear a song I dislike. All classy super-pop. #
  • @Remysbaby Yeah, our hair has parted ways in recent years :) Meanwhile, are you adequately prepared to be snowed for weeks, POSSIBLY MONTHS? in reply to Remysbaby #
  • @purpletronic They have a Blueberry wheat at foodery I really want to try. I love raspberry beers. I had a strawberry one at @natmechanics in reply to purpletronic #
  • http://snowpocalypsephilly.com/ (via @eedawson) #
  • This Mozella LP is one killer tune after another. Adored "Let's Stop Calling It Love" – http://lala.com/z2hn #
  • @mozellamusic It's an amazing LP! I have a feeling it will be my company all snowed-in weekend ;) Also, whoever does your licensing is great in reply to mozellamusic #
  • Gotta love Twitter – three tweets about discovering Mozella's 2009 LP Belle Isle and I get an unsolicited response from @mozellamusic :) #
  • @purpletronic I love frambroise the most. I had some amazing lambics in the UK last year. The strawberry beer was cute, but sorta odd. in reply to purpletronic #
  • @mkaisr I don't know that I've ever been offended by music so much as I have been by three or four songs on her disc. in reply to mkaisr #
  • @mkaisr Hey, you're back! Coffee and photos soon? I will actually go through my Paris photos to trade with you :) in reply to mkaisr #
  • @mkaisr I don't understand why all her songs have to be about the worth or cost of hooking up w/her, including Clarkson's "I Do Not Hook Up" in reply to mkaisr #
  • Just had a hilarious conversation with my neighbor across the street, standing in our respective doorways. I suspect he is stoned. #
  • @sethgoldstein Because the station with its reporter placed in the most peril WINS, clearly ;) in reply to sethgoldstein #
  • i must say that there is a certain charm in having an actual winter with periodic snow on the ground. I can't say I'm disliking it. #
  • What was the last non-local, major-label album I bought where every song was 4- or 5-stars & memorable? Rilo Kiley or OK Go? What about you? #
  • I had to qualify non-local because tons of Philly acts release LPs this strong. Sleepwells, Alexandra Day, Hezekiah Jones. Crazy talent here #
  • Apparently on weekends my crazy neighbors blast disco in their living room at 6am. I might be loud, but at least I'm loud at normal times. #
  • Well, if I could sing right now this would be a great day to go outside and do my snow video of me singing "Icy Cold." #
  • @CEMcKenzie1 I cannot seem to turn off her album. I'm worried after 20 or 30 consecutive times i might get a little sick of it. in reply to CEMcKenzie1 #
  • @CEMcKenzie1 I don't have that song – are you listening to the first album? I just bought Belle Isle on a whim, song unheard, and love it. in reply to CEMcKenzie1 #
  • @AllThingsGwen I'm sorry – you have a jug of HOLY WATER in your closet? Are you secretly The Slayer? in reply to AllThingsGwen #
  • I know this is gauche to mention, but how is it I have 24k tweets? Wow. Last time I looked it was 7k. Thank you for not being sick of me. #
  • @alohanico Disturbing when you realize it adds up to a novel of moderate length. in reply to alohanico #
  • @AllThingsGwen Like, with intent for you to use the stuff? Or, is it just a remote location for his hoarding? in reply to AllThingsGwen #
  • @mickeygomez @nakeva Ahh. Then perhaps it is wrong, because I should be about 10k less, I think. in reply to mickeygomez #
  • @alohanico RT @mickeygomez Several of us have noticed this odd trend, that suddenly our tweet count jumps to ridiculously high numbers #
  • @valkrye131 http://twitpic.com/11q4sr – I might have to take down our wind chimes before they get swallowed! #
  • Chet Baker's voice hits a soft spot in my body I didn't even know existed. #
  • @bsii Har har. Should we start talking about having a SurvivorBlog tenth reunion special? in reply to bsii #
  • @bsii Har har. Should we start talking about having a SurvivorBlog 10th anniversary reunion special? in reply to bsii #
  • So depressing to be snowed in and without a voice – what a perfect weekend to start recording new songs. #
  • No fleeing cold can stand up to the power of clementines. #
  • Wow. RT @SEPTA All BUS, LUCY and CCT service is suspended due to weather and street conditions. #
  • Cocoon is way too sadder now. Old married people afraid of dying aren't as funny anymore. #
  • @saraiderin Haha, not old, but the relationships just mean something different to me now. in reply to saraiderin #
  • It's sunny & I can breath, which immediately elevates the status of today above that of its precedents. Might explore the winter wonderland #
