What I Tweeted, 2010-03-07 Edition

March 7, 2010 by krisis

My tweets of the last week:

  • No one should ever have to wake up to "Tubthumping" stuck in their head. No one. #
  • @Blueskyfox Is such a thing possible? Only when drunk, I'd say… in reply to Blueskyfox #
  • @cupcakie Received and replied! Please take note, @srcasm :) in reply to cupcakie #
  • @ryandaniel NO, but that totally happened to me last weekend, too. Smashmouth songs are decent when performed by bands other than Smashmouth in reply to ryandaniel #
  • Reasons I love my job: Receiving official, work-related emails from Tastykake.com #
  • In other news, I had no idea that my wake-up tweet about Chumbawamba would resonate so strongly. #
  • OK Go bucks label on video sharing RT @vipvirtualsols OK Go Allows Embeds w/ New Version of Music Video http://bit.ly/9Pbd8P (via @Mashable) #
  • @justintrawick I just saw you're in Philly at the Tin Angel soon! We're playing there a few weeks after you. I have to try to make it out! in reply to justintrawick #
  • @djmarilyn My taste in and affection for music is pretty broad, but I can't even enjoy that song in an ironic sense. in reply to djmarilyn #
  • Got an email w/the full bill for our 4/7 Tin Angel show & it's going to be amazing! Embargoed 'til tomorrow. You will love the other 2 bands #
  • American Idol proves that no one uses MySpace. http://bit.ly/aQqm1t (blog collects fans/follows of the AI9 finalists; hardly any on MySpace) #
  • @Jennyfur Still a little mistrusting of them since their ham-handed community rulings earlier in Beta. in reply to Jennyfur #
  • http://twitcam.com/gxfr – Live @ Rehearsal, the scruffy edition #
  • Now playing Since U Been Gone (for the first time in a long while) (@krisis live on http://twitcam.com/gxfr) #
  • A first ever video run-thru of Bad Romance (@krisis live on http://twitcam.com/gxfr) #
  • Regenerate, an original, playing now! (@krisis live on http://twitcam.com/gxfr) #
  • Now closing shop with a cover of Space Oddity (@krisis live on http://twitcam.com/gxfr) #
  • @brimil That's what I was saying we should use for our "live in the artists' studio" nights :) in reply to brimil #
  • @Remysbaby Haha, I have to learn some approximate chords for that so I actually stay in tune when belting it out. in reply to Remysbaby #
  • Eventually I'll figure out the right volume to record TwitCam concerts. Or I'll actually figure out how to do them from the high-tech PC. #
  • @IONRyan I have a crazy DAW upstairs for album recording, but at the moment it doesn't do video, so I'm on a teensy laptop (or, a FlipCam) in reply to IONRyan #
  • Hmm, my guitar playing is a little sluggish tonight. Gotta improve the strength in my right arm for my songs w/ punkish downstroke rhythms #
  • That said, Bad Romance was pretty awesome. So cool to be able to watch myself play it! #
  • I toss my hair on the same line ON. EVERY. CHORUS. I have a hair-tossing problem. #
  • @bengarvey Would be easy to do on LiveStream if everyone was fluent in how to use it. in reply to bengarvey #
  • I don't know why they tried to cast the guy who plays Sawyer on Lost as Gambit in Wolverine when he CLEARLY looks just like 1980s Sabretooth #
  • We're near the end of Season 3 of Lost, and I hate pretty much every character except for Hurley, Sayid, and Sun. All so useless and stupid. #
  • @platypusjones Um, not sure what you're referring to, but they offered it to Sawyer & he turned it down because it was too similar to Sawyer in reply to platypusjones #
  • @jodyms I love him. Aside from when he destroyed all the food with Libby, which I could at least chalk up to psychosis. Otherwise, love. in reply to jodyms #
  • @therealdesh It's not so great. Like, I can understand the appeal, because it's the illusion of deep and made for a mass audience. But, meh. in reply to therealdesh #
  • @limnrix I've been just yelling at them to kill Jack, or Locke, or somebody, for several episodes now. in reply to limnrix #
  • I'm done with Lost after three seasons. Yes, I know it gets "crazy" after that. w/e. I like shows that respect their characters and audience #
  • @cheryldoherty 24 was obviously bad on 1st contact. Lost might've developed into something good, but didn't. TV generally not worth the time in reply to cheryldoherty #
  • SM talks a lot about Troll response. What about bad reviews? Do you even read them? If you respond, do you still follow your troll policy? #
  • For example, I tend to scan negative reviews for a) valid critique & b) total misinformation, then leave them be. Similar to my troll policy #
  • @ldr12 Lindsay! I just noticed you follow me. You've spent a lot of time in my thoughts the past few months. It's so great to talk to you! in reply to ldr12 #
  • @mayanorthen Interesting that you're a travel agent! We want to go to Tokyo next year, and don't really know where to start. We should chat. #
  • Detailed blog about the only 2 "unbranded" Starbucks shops: how do they differ & what's their mission? http://bit.ly/9mLxQc #
  • @IONRyan I love that era! On vinyl, or did you find a good CD or digital source? in reply to IONRyan #
  • @IONRyan I know a lot of singles from growing up w/50s music fans, but not so many artists. Always looking for good collections of the era. in reply to IONRyan #
  • @melissa_shae I'm in NJ this weekend, none of the umpteen amazing Friday shows for me. in reply to melissa_shae #
  • Watching the original Buffy movie – I forgot the supporting turns from Oscar-winners Hilary Swank & Ben Affleck (well, not for acting…) #
  • @PAWeissenstein You are always so cheery at the beginning of a day! I hope I do amaze everyone today. It would make for a nice Wednesday :) in reply to PAWeissenstein #
  • Went all HULK SMASH on my 1st challenge of the day. I hope it will be smoother from here on out, because I don't look great in purple shorts #
  • Today @endtheword & http://r-word.org want you to pledge to eliminate "retarded" from your verbal lexicon. Discard "gay" while you're at it. #
  • @SarahPsyDeal The difference being that there are actually appropriate uses for "gay" in conversation, but the r-word has no appropriate use in reply to SarahPsyDeal #
  • @DirtMansion WOW, I just read the description. I will definitely watch that when I get home tonight. PS: Philly shows, soon? in reply to DirtMansion #
  • @DirtMansion Residencies can be awkward, because if the place has no standing crowd you've gotta bring all those heads in w/you EVERY time. in reply to DirtMansion #
  • Only on a day like today can a stray uppercase "W" lead me down an intermittent morning-long rabbit hole about corporate style. #
  • @redmoonriver Any interest in open-micing tonight? Trying a new one at Noche, 19th and Chestnut. in reply to redmoonriver #
  • Through an unlikely series of events that involved getting dressed on a SEPTA bus I am playing the open mic at Noche, 19th and Chestnut. #
  • @theoreticalgirl Like, a WHOLE crab or lobster? Or, any iteration thereof? in reply to theoreticalgirl #
  • Seeing the relatively rare beast that is acoustic @filmstarband. Never sure what they'll pull out while stripped down. Um, that sounds dirty #
  • After hosting an open mic for any length of time you will never experience open mic hosts the same way again. In case you were wondering. #
  • @theoreticalgirl Lobster admittedly can creep me out in some settings, but I will contemplate a good crab experience for you :) in reply to theoreticalgirl #
  • Note to open mic artists (&, well, everybody, me included): "Google Me" only works if you're the #1 search result AND we can spell your name #
  • Enjoying Brian Harmer's turn at the open mic; compelling performer – raspy voice while still being tuneful. http://myspace.com/brianharmer #
  • @bengarvey I would go so far as to say, "and you have a search hit other than MySpace." in reply to bengarvey #
  • @bengarvey Ben, when are we going to consummate this intellectual kismet by playing each other some songs? :) in reply to bengarvey #
  • Wowza, a (really strong) Honorary Title cover at an open mic. That is some random goodness, courtesy of Mr. Brian Fox. Cool. #
  • Ha, that's the first time I've been at an open mic at a 21+ bar where someone used a MIley Cyrus song as an appeal to the audience. I'm old. #
  • (And then my wife went over to flirt with the Miley Cyrus guy. No, it's okay, really. I'm going to play Lady Gaga and win back her love.) #
  • @amanda_nan And to think I almost redacted that comment ;) in reply to amanda_nan #
  • @inflammatorywrt PREACH IT. This is why I usually wait until the end of a series to watch it. I engaged a few months too early. in reply to inflammatorywrt #
  • @inflammatorywrt Oh, we just gave up at Season 3 because it didn't seem like it was going anywhere promising other than ZOMG TIME TRAVELZ in reply to inflammatorywrt #
  • @inflammatorywrt My overarching point being, I hate investing X numbers of hours only for a show to stall in the last season. in reply to inflammatorywrt #
  • Super-fun set: Bad Romance & Shake It Off (w/Shake Your Body Down to the Ground). I was all up on the mic; hopefully didn't catch anything. #
  • (That last tweet was all about my crazy OCD about microphone germs. Doesn't matter who sang before me. I try not to touch them, in general.) #
  • If my office had a kitchen and a futon I think I would sometimes just camp out there for a few days at a time. #
  • @amanda_nan Wasn't a great one, really. Still working out kinks on "Dumbest Thing I Can Do" in reply to amanda_nan #
  • Even the girl that was supposedly good on Idol tonight suxxors. I think the shark has been jumped. How do you top Kradam, really? #
  • "Do you know those words that turn into other words? Anagrams? Well, 'strategy' is 'get artsy'." – @brimil #
  • @Jennyfur Do you have a YouTube identity different than your Google login? in reply to Jennyfur #
  • I don't know who Hannah Miet is, but this post is a spectacular example of why personal blogging is (still) compelling: http://bit.ly/aGGlsl #
  • Descruffed this morning in a scene that E described from outside the bathroom as sounding "epic, as if from LotR" http://twitpic.com/16rhjc #
  • If you're in Philly and not going to one of the dozen other amazing shows, spend $10 right now to pick up a ticket from the preceding link. #
  • Super-interesting. Super-creepy: "Half Life" – Living Bioluminescent Lamp Made From Hamster Cells! | Inhabitat http://bit.ly/asYwoc #
  • An image of Ms. Philadelphia, 1921. http://bit.ly/aDcnss #
  • What would a trip to New Jersey be without breakfast for dinner at a diner? #
  • @kenlowery awww, I miss City of Heroes. 18 months of my life ;) in reply to kenlowery #
  • Any day that ends with high school girls stopping me to tell me how awesome my hair looks is a day well spent. #
  • Just registered for #140conf in NYC – Exploring "The State of NOW"! Last day of $100 2-day passes, & get an extra 5% http://bit.ly/cHnp0D #
  • @cheryldoherty hahaha, you totally are! Nothing beats hair praise ;) in reply to cheryldoherty #
  • After an eternal Netflix wait we abandoned Hangover very quickly. Unfunny, borderline offensive, sausage-party humor. It's no Sarah Marshall #
  • @avarielwings I enjoyed him in it because he was playing someone as (or more) unlikeable as himself, with great mockery ;) in reply to avarielwings #
  • @lizasperling I'd wager not a lot of actors paying lip service to our beloved Twitter – their campaigns much less social media oriented, no? in reply to lizasperling #
  • @lizasperling Interesting – I got the impression that the Academy was old-school enough that the nominee campaigns stayed relatively safe. in reply to lizasperling #
  • @lizasperling Therein lies my wonder at who will say it 1st. B/c I know people are invested, but would a SM thank-you irritate old guard? in reply to lizasperling #
  • @laermer Was just talking about this – how #oscars erects a wall between the art and the consumers. And they wonder why viewers decline. in reply to laermer #
