What I Tweeted, 2010-06-20 Edition

June 20, 2010 by krisis

My tweets of the last week:

  • Packing pizza party w/ @not_pele & @amanda_nan. One guess at which one is mocking me for wearing "jorts" #
  • So of course this would be a great time for one of my molars to crack open. Oh, Murphy and your silly little law. #
  • My dentist is the best dentist in Philadelphia. Already called me back, gave me an appointment for tomorrow. Dr. Backiel, queen of teeth. #
  • @amanda_nan It will still be great! At least you weren't haven't scary teeth dreams. And, like, not the good Gaga kind, either. in reply to amanda_nan #
  • @leesafar You're in the top .5% of all artists! That's pretty amazing, Lee ;) in reply to leesafar #
  • @jimshreds always annoys me – aren't your current customers as important as prospects? I know it's partially about UX, but also a message. in reply to jimshreds #
  • I don't know that I've ever been to an office as organized and high-functioning as this dentist's. They ought to hold team-building seminars #
  • @sarahcooley Good morning! I was just thinking of you last night. Hope all is well. in reply to sarahcooley #
  • @not_pele RT @PhillyBrk: Help fill the SEPTA bus! Come down to 4th and Market Streets donate your canned goods to Philabundance. #
  • @parkview haha, I am so frequently that elevator freak. Posing, singing, working on stage choreography… in reply to parkview #
  • When dentist offers a service a man appears with a clipboard of insurance rates to tell you exactly how much it will cost before you say yes #
  • (Am I seriously still tweeting about my dentist? They just take all of the mystery and horror out of dentistry. I'd come here every month.) #
  • @radiocolin Really? Never experienced it before. They're very explanatory about everything, which I love in a doctor. Draw back the curtain. in reply to radiocolin #
  • @iconjohn @parkview I usually kibosh the audible freakness when someone else gets on, unless they want to sing harmony. in reply to iconjohn #
  • @jonathanfields I know it's an odd comparison, but I feel like it's similar to Tapestry in that those emotions will never expire. A classic. in reply to jonathanfields #
  • @not_pele you're going to get a break from my constant packing narration, because I have enough novocaine in my face that I can't form words #
  • @leesa_up I know 5+ people with nothing but positive experiences here. Tell them @not_pele and I sent you! in reply to leesa_up #
  • Half a house to pack, and what am I doing? Syncing my iPod to make sure we have music for the move. Priorities, people. Priorities. #
  • @markb OMG, that's the best thing ever. @mikeyil in reply to markb #
  • @ryandaniel You've read Malcolm Gladwell's article on this topic, yes? in reply to ryandaniel #
  • Basically our entire home-buying process relies on a jar of change & not getting towed from a loading zone. I may or may not explain later. #
  • @mayaREguru oh, trust me, I'll be imagining you sitting on my shoulder for the entirety of this day ;) in reply to mayaREguru #
  • Singing greatest hits of Peter & Elise on the way to closing: Lisa Loeb "Tails," Sarah Harmer "You Were Here" & Indigo Girls "Retrospective" #
  • Car not towed. Bank check obtained. Counted our change so we can eat for the next 24hrs. $212 in change! So far, so good. #
  • Now at the Title Company. They seem to frown on me live-tweeting this process. #
  • The stack of paper is halfway depleted! Both still signing like the rock stars we are. Now affirming a paper w/all of our known aliases ;) #
  • Our sellers are awesome – presently living near South Hampton, UK and bring their dogs to the pub :) #
  • We now are the proud owners OF A HOUSE. #
  • @amanda_nan Haha, you're bringing that with you tonight, right? ;) in reply to amanda_nan #
  • @JettSuperior In about 23hrs, but we're already making our first trip ;) in reply to JettSuperior #
  • @mikeyil @schmidtultra NEWROOMSSLAM #
  • @RobIsEvil I plan to enjoy every last second of our limited, naive, pre-pain-in-the-ass phase ;) in reply to RobIsEvil #
  • Our house. Party invitations to come ;) http://twitpic.com/1xbaop #
  • @eddidit thank you! It is super-cute outside, not something that really matters, but a nice bonus ;) in reply to eddidit #
  • @mmmeghan wow, how are you! It's a tudor, but some of the flourish (like the blue) I think is not faithful to the period. in reply to mmmeghan #
  • @marykateruf you will def have to come over for wine soon. Maybe we can even lure my blonde cube-neighbor to join us ;) in reply to marykateruf #
  • @lisamay77 I may have commented way at the beginning of the process that I would be predisposed to blue houses, and here we are ;) in reply to lisamay77 #
  • @paullucci thank you, paul! Your kind words throughout the process really made a difference to me ;) prior resident was musician – good omen in reply to paullucci #
  • @bengarvey It is awesome! And now I can be new-house buddies w/you in addition to being music nerds. ;) in reply to bengarvey #
  • You are making me tear up with all of your amazingly kind words! I can't wait to catch up in the moments between packing later tonight. xoxo #
  • @brimil brittmillerart or similar? in reply to brimil #
  • @heidigenrich it is a paralyzing condition. I sometimes fear looking something up at the beginning of an evening. in reply to heidigenrich #
  • "We have normality. I repeat, we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem." #
  • @platypusjones Goats penned by @jonrosenberg has an ongoing bit about the infinite scriptwriting monkeys, one of which he drew in my book :) in reply to platypusjones #
  • At this point I am in a post-caffeinated I-can-fix-any-problem-at-all superman state. #
  • Little bro just informed us that he's been cast in a semi-pro production of Tick Tick Boom. That's TWO shows already since HS theatre ended. #
  • @hchybinski Was just in a Lee Blessing show. Love that he's not only getting cast already pre-college, but doing extremely challenging shows in reply to hchybinski #
  • @Remysbaby He was in Lee Blessing's "Two Rooms," now is in Larson's "Tick Tick Boom." in reply to Remysbaby #
  • Looking for a fourth wind – fourth wind, anyone? #
  • New House, hour 21: I am now arguing with boxes and singing show tunes to blazers. I might be allowed to sleep about 14 hours from now? #
  • @bethofalltrades Not surprising, as Katy Perry neatly encapsulates most of what's wrong in pop culture at any given moment. in reply to bethofalltrades #
  • E and her mother are down for some semblance of sleep, but I am still puttering from room to room boxing things. 9hrs until we move. Oh my. #
  • Moved the couch across the room, rolled up the rug, & moved the couch back to where it began ALL BY MYSELF. I want a medal. And a cookie. #
  • Packapocalypse continues. We each slept in a 90-minute shift while the other worked solo. Down to those hard-to-box remainders. Almost there #
  • A tablet would make this process way easier. Inventory boxes as I go, make notes when I do silly things like put cuff-links in w/worry dolls #
  • This is the first time since 1999 that every single piece of clothing I own is clean at the same time. #
  • @patrickbjohnson haha, well, they're freshly washed, but I'm a dust-bomb. I didn't want to pack anything i'd have to launder post-move. in reply to patrickbjohnson #
  • All I can say about Mambo Movers is WOW. No wonder they're universally recommended – smart, fast, charming. We're kinda in awe of them. #
  • @SmashleyDubs hahaha, I stil haven't lived there yet, except to drop off guitars last night. We're headed there w/the movers momentarily. in reply to SmashleyDubs #
  • Goodbye, Greenwich Street, home to five good years of us. http://twitpic.com/1xmlif #
  • We've each had something like 3hrs of sleep in the last 36hrs. Now on the road to move into the house. Nervous about actually living there. #
  • @girlinblack did I seriously miss you presenting at #140conf I was going to attend, but we wound up settling on our house this week! in reply to girlinblack #
  • Mambo Movers = Most Awesome Movers. All of our stuff in 4.5hrs with time to talk indie rock and without a ding on it. #
  • @WhitneyBender LOVE. Do you have the same crew as we did yesterday – Steve, Drew, and Justin. They were amazing. in reply to WhitneyBender #
  • Home-owning is going to push my ocd to medicatable levels. I just lost my shit in Home Depot over MOP HANDLES. Need psychiatric intervention #
  • E has placated my mop psychosis by reminding me that I can now purchase a shower head that can harm me with its powerful blast. #
  • Landsdowne farmer's market, everyone is so super-nice & out of the blue our friend Andra Taylor is the music! Seems like a great scene. #
  • My kitchen hit me with a paralyzing death ray after I mercilessly sanitized it from top to middle. Just now regaining use of my limbs. #
  • There comes a point when mopping is less efficient than rolling around on the floor like Madonna singing Like a Virgin on the MTV VMAs in 84 #
  • @amanda_nan Wait until you see it. Basically, as of 12am you could eat off any surface in either of the rooms you hung out in last night :) in reply to amanda_nan #
  • I ordered books from @PA_Megacorp as a house-warming gift for myself; I mentioned that in my order & Tycho & Gabe SIGNED MY BOOK as a gift!! #
  • Now I have signed books from both of my fav webcomics: Penny Arcade & @jonrosenberg's Goats. Yes, I'm a nerd. A nerd w/an awesome bookshelf. #
  • Gina got engaged! She wore a tux in my wedding, so I think I have to wear a dress in hers? Should be fun. #
  • @thatdrew I dunno, I tend to look sortof ruddy in orange. I'd have to get really pale to make that work. Need to research vampirism… in reply to thatdrew #
