What I Tweeted, 2010-08-08 Edition

August 8, 2010 by krisis

My tweets of the last week:

  • Finally, finally, finally soft-launching my guide to collecting X-Men comics as trade paperbacks @ http://bit.ly/x-guide – took a long while #
  • Not hot water and no mobile internet. Thirty minutes into this week and I can't say I'm loving it. #
  • @frankiethirteen I made it from that perspective; if you're picking up after a hiatus it shouldn't take weeks of research to buy a few books in reply to frankiethirteen #
  • Not only no hot water, but my shower apparenly ONLY operates on hot water, so I'm stuck w/the wussy low-flow shower in the hall, also frigid #
  • But, seriously, such #firstworldproblems I'm having. I should be happy for my full fridge & seeing little bro all weekend. And my great hair #
  • @mayaREguru Usually that's my strategy, but I'm a little terrified of how it could backfire on me this week. Why are you stuck in Chrome? in reply to mayaREguru #
  • @MLDtweets On that very topic, I finally launched my guide to collecting X-Men in tpbs: http://bit.ly/x-guide -it's been MLD for 2mnths now! in reply to MLDtweets #
  • On the plus side, my 2nd rehearsal as @filmstarband's fill-in bassist is tonight, and I have photo shoots Weds-Fri at work. Crazy week. #
  • @frankiethirteen I'm not that far in my read yet, but seems like you can jump in either at Divided, Manifest, or Nation X, which is out fall in reply to frankiethirteen #
  • @frankiethirteen Also if you haven't read any of the newer Peter David X-Factor, it's pretty awesome. Just got through TPB 1-3. Very low key in reply to frankiethirteen #
  • I am a wee bit overscheduled this week to begin with without having to find the time to go to other people's houses for hot showers… #
  • PS: Canonical full title links are ruining my freaking day. Never trust a link that doesn't have a raw post number in it. ARGH. #
  • @THEkrismohfanz Nice to tweet-meet you, Kris. I'm not sure from your profile if we know each other in person or not. #
  • @hemmons Happy to be following, Scott. Looking forward to the early word on some new cool stuff ;) #
  • I have to say that any home-services vendor that results in my wife crying on the phone with me is probably not getting a positive referral. #
  • Actually, I shouldn't have to say that, right? That should just be assumed? #
  • Still no hot water; solution in sight. Awesome rehearsal w/ @filmstarband last night. Might host a house concert for my blog 10th b-day? Wow #
  • @KeithBurtis Kindle for PC app: http://amzn.to/a3t29D in reply to KeithBurtis #
  • @platypusjones Word to that. in reply to platypusjones #
  • @amanda_nan All of our trolley-replacing buses are that new! They're shiny & un-grimy and I don't get panic attacks if I have to hold a rail in reply to amanda_nan #
  • @paullucci Awesome! Google will not reveal to me what that is, but you're excited, & I think passing any test is a cause for celebration ;) in reply to paullucci #
  • @paullucci So, what is it? ;0 in reply to paullucci #
  • @tonia_ries I'm always truly disturbed by how much garbage people can produce. We focus on getting < 1bag/wk, while others trash dozens! in reply to tonia_ries #
  • @radiocolin You say that to rational me. OCD Godzilla is in charge of decisions to touch things when in public & commensurate panic attacks. in reply to radiocolin #
  • @paullucci Ahh, a good think to have indeed :) Great news on passing. in reply to paullucci #
  • @THEkrismohfanz Would be awesome to have you over for some music! Supposedly the hot water is coming back by EOD today? We'll see. in reply to THEkrismohfanz #
  • @tonia_ries I feel like everyone should have to take their own trash to the dump once or twice a year to realize the scope of what they toss in reply to tonia_ries #
  • @mpomy That looks pretty nifty; pity all the cute apps are Mac OS :( in reply to mpomy #
  • @mpomy My phone app has unreliable scroll lock, sometimes gets possessed when it DLs a big gang of tweets and totally freaks out. in reply to mpomy #
  • Do you know any Philly drummers who like indie pop? Our duo is in search of a third member: http://bit.ly/b1dAvb #
  • @KRife Thanks for spreading the word! You can DL an album of us for free at http://arcaticrisis.bandcamp.com in reply to KRife #
  • @Cecilyk Good is good! I'm glad to hear it ;) in reply to Cecilyk #
  • Listening to Janet Jackson while rocking some proofreading, thanks to @drawonthewalls #
  • @lizcavallucci I miss you! What has been up in your world lately? #
  • @CarlaYoung have you seen the doc film Art & Copy? Watching it now, just showed that Jordan ad. in reply to CarlaYoung #
  • @CarlaYoung It's streaming on Netflix, about the evolution of art &copy as components of advertising. Really good stuff, a little overlong. in reply to CarlaYoung #
  • @briancrumley That Amazon phone app has become my new best friend whenever I am dragged into big box stores professing to offer major deals. in reply to briancrumley #
  • That post has been cooking for a little while now – all about how I'm regressing to childhood in my spare time, largely thanks to @mikeyil #
  • @THEkrismohfanz Ooh, that's hard. That middle area between Rhythm Nation and Janet – when all the songs were sweet (well, except for If) in reply to THEkrismohfanz #
  • @brimil I kept going back and writing in different jobs that you employ me for :) Bonte: ANYTIME. Let me just get through rocking our shoots in reply to brimil #
  • @THEkrismohfanz Haha, that's the EARLY slutty period. Not to be confused with the middle and late slutty periods. in reply to THEkrismohfanz #
  • Following a convo w/my wife is a like a multi-media comic book crossover – email, gmail, text, FB, DMs. Is your SO relationship similar? #
  • @nwjerseyliz Point totally not missed! I would love camping if I could go out in the woods to relax and concentrate on writing/blogging. in reply to nwjerseyliz #
  • @djwaldow Totally a great feeling. I zeroed my inbox this morning and wound up having a killer productive day because of it. in reply to djwaldow #
  • Only through superhuman force of will (& having to manage a 7am shoot) was I able to wake up at 5:30 from a dream where I was Sydney Bristow #
  • @jonathanfields certainly seems like there's a certain demographic that patronizes all three. To sustain bike/shop maybe it's casual cowork? in reply to jonathanfields #
  • Kids on carousel shot wrapped. Kid talent totally adorable and amazing. http://twitpic.com/2bistc #
  • Setting up shot #2 at the park. We had an awesome ride on the carousel :) http://twitpic.com/2biyqn #
  • In addition to official duties so far I have also wrangled donuts, stood in as a hair double, and taught a course in drawing elephants. #
  • Intern: "We can play FourSquare!" Kids: "Yay!" Me: "You mean, on our phones?" #
  • Day one of photography wrapped 10 minutes ahead of schedule! Now have to ward off the rain for tomorrow morning. #
  • @jennlyn81 I'm always nervous for shoots w/children, but we couldn't have had an easier time with the kids. in reply to jennlyn81 #
  • @THEkrismohfanz It's like, moderate anti-rain-dance. Only do it enough so we still get overcast, because that's good light ;) in reply to THEkrismohfanz #
  • @jennlyn81 @not_pele At one point one of the background women had to go back to hair & makeup so I stood in to light her shot :) in reply to jennlyn81 #
  • @ComicVine I am so smitten with your site. Comic books for a generation fo snarky, grown-up fans. I don't know how I lived without it. #
  • @BethHarte I know the intent of the statement, but any company who thinks interns are for coffee has bigger issues than their SM strategy :) in reply to BethHarte #
  • @BethHarte PS: I miss you. in reply to BethHarte #
  • We're throwing an inaugural house concert on Sun 8/22 w/the amazing (& award-winning) @miekapauley. Save the date; more info to come soon! #
  • (I'm responsible for set-up and hosting, so I'm unsure of if I should play, but if you're coming to my house I'd hate to NOT play for you ;) #
  • @amanda_nan @eedawson This is NOT the housewarming party. This is a special end-of-summer bonus event w/one of our favorite artists :) in reply to amanda_nan #
  • Mid-commute I check my feed to find what seems like every last one of you celebrating the decision against Prop8. I love you, Twitter. #
  • But, seriously, if you all make me cry on a Septa bus I am going to be really embarrassed. #
  • Direct link to CNN-hosted PDF of Prop8 ruling. http://bit.ly/aktCCN #
  • @joeross Yeah, @scribd seemed to be out of gas when I hit it. Plus, why not just get a real PDF that you can DL and keep? in reply to joeross #
  • Do you know any Philly drummers who like indie pop? Our duo is in search of a third member: http://bit.ly/b1dAvb #
  • So wiped from our shoot that I passed out in the middle of the floor. E perhaps thought I fainted? Couldn't be roused to explain otherwise. #
  • I'm not a fan of Cricket wireless's phone tree system – there's no way to get a live person on the phone if you've suspended your account. #
  • Took apart my dead backup drive, extracted the actual hard disk, and installed it into one of my PCs. No data lost. Take that, technology! #
  • Nice to know I haven't lost 8+ years of mixing, even if it took a night that was supposed to be for rehearsal to figure that out. #
  • @EmmaRubySachs Enjoyed your article an the historical perspective of LGBT incremental legal movement vs. what occurred in this case. in reply to EmmaRubySachs #
  • Fascinating article about author behind Girl w/Dragon Tattoo http://bit.ly/aeH591 -Tried the movie, but the rape theme is too graphic for me #
  • @THEkrismohfanz Oh, I'm def multi-faceted. So far this week: account rep, location mgr, bassist, PC repairer, blogger, comic archivist… in reply to THEkrismohfanz #
  • @lwcavallucci Might have to try again, skipping them. I'm not for censorship, but I'm not sure scenes like that should be committed to film. in reply to lwcavallucci #
  • @lwcavallucci Will do. I was just getting really engrossed when we turned it off @ the 2nd one; wasn't sure how much more I'd encounter. in reply to lwcavallucci #
  • Photo shoot, day 2! Today a gaggle of interns, some of my favorite clients, and another beautifuk day in the park! http://twitpic.com/2bspp9 #
  • Flirted with rain for five minutes, but it's clear enough to grab a few filler shots before we have to strike. http://twitpic.com/2btxji #
  • @JustinKownacki My thoughts, exactly. Heartening to see I wasn't just being a contrary grinch ;) in reply to JustinKownacki #
  • @mayaREguru Seems like there's opportunity for a photog w/appropriate lens to improve the majority of listings. What do you tell yr sellers? in reply to mayaREguru #
  • Do not like "Who to follow." This isn't Facebook. I'll follow someone if they're interesting. @twitter #
  • @ponteakabridge Seriously, I think every person it has recommended to me so far is someone I specifically dislike, but not enough to block. in reply to ponteakabridge #
  • En route to our last photo shoot! Much more intimate shots today, hopefully accompanied by cooler weather. We were roasting yesterday. #
  • Always fun to dredge up nearly decade-old nude photos of me to accompany a blog post. Continuity is important. #
  • I'm at SquareBurger (6th Street and Race Street, Philadelphia). http://4sq.com/aVsrD7 #
  • Having a Peanut Butter Kandy Cake shake @ squareburger to celebrate wrapping our shoot! #
  • @suz925 haha, not sure how informed I'm keeping you, aside from being up-to-date on all of my neuroses. in reply to suz925 #
  • @PAWeissenstein After 3 days of 7am photo shoots, I think my plan is to nap! Also, there's a big SM flurry for a free @okgo show tomorrow. in reply to PAWeissenstein #
  • Woman sitting in front of me on the El has been aggressively picking her teeth with her earring for 20+ blocks. #
  • @alohanico @charlie_o Not only something that should be kept private, but I'm convinced if I even open my mouth on the El I'll get syphillis in reply to alohanico #
  • E campaigning via email for me to reverse course back to city to see a show, but I'm so wiped that I don't think i'd stay awake for the ride #
  • Drinking some of the best white wine sangria ever – oranges, cloves, peach juice, & vodka. Theoretically tearing myself away soon for @okgo. #
  • Now part of the hipster hive mind. (@ The Piazza at Schmidts w/ @jedsinger) http://4sq.com/1B3Col #
  • @suzymags so good live! Cannot wait for the full report when you return! Just saw @okgo @ the piazza in reply to suzymags #
  • Note to self: do not allow out of towners to choose your bar on South Street. No happy endings there. #
  • Four hours of rehearsal filling in w/ @filmstarband. Out of 17 songs, at least half of them are beginning to rock mightily. #
