What I Tweeted, 2011-07-10 Edition

July 10, 2011 by krisis

My tweets of the last week:

  • Good morning! After my insane weekend, I have to ask: What's the coolest/most-unusual party you've ever attended? #
  • Great perspective on achieving your own modicum of fame from @AtmosTrio via @matthewebel: I’ve Never Heard of You Either http://t.co/XMayikH #
  • @amanda_nan Highlights included Chemistry Dance, Franklin Fountain negotiations, iGoldberg parade, live Super Mario Brothers at Drexel. in reply to amanda_nan #
  • @amanda_nan There are many videos and photos, but that probably won't get sorted out for a few weeks, as it was handled ad hoc by partiers. in reply to amanda_nan #
  • Last week my friend @mtomasetti got a shout-out from @philebrity, effectively for being a zombie historical reenactor: http://bit.ly/mrVzSE #
  • When not roaming the streets of Philly as the mascot for Ghost Tours, @mtomasetti is an awesome working actor in the Philly theatre scene ;) #
  • PS: You may know him from a certain CarSense commercial, if you are the type of person who watches the television. #
  • @mtomasetti I was wondering if he would make it out for the celebration :) It's awesome seeing you get notice for something indie & local. in reply to mtomasetti #
  • @mikeyil I've wanted to go for a few years now, but E won't bite. Has to be a friendcation. in reply to mikeyil #
  • @brimil @mikeyil A vacation that a coupled person goes on without their partner. I used to do one a year, but have slacked off w/house stuff in reply to brimil #
  • No iPod for the week; realizing how much I rely on it as my personal radio for work, gym, and commute. Somewhat adrift without it. #
  • Whether in social media or just face to face, sometimes to succeed you must stop doing what you think people are expecting and be yourself. #
  • Took me a long damn time to learn that in my music. Pretending to be like other artists got me nowhere. Better to simply play my songs well. #
  • Well, it took a year and two weeks in the house, but I finally demoed a new solo song. And it sounds gooooood. #
  • Good morning! If you could've magically woken up to one small change in your life today, what would it be? Can you make that change happen? #
  • @melissa_shae @JuliaEveHays Ha. I must change my alarm every few months, because if I get sick of it I snooze it. Used to be Celebrity Skin. in reply to melissa_shae #
  • @styleprdiva I'm impressed that you have your shoes on a fiscal year rather than a calendar year ;) in reply to styleprdiva #
  • @SarahRobinson Good morning! I'm trying to become an earlier riser, but considering your time zone you have me beat ;) in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @toofeets I love a random morning complement. I don't think I realized how much power I had back when I was a morning barista ;) in reply to toofeets #
  • @SarahRobinson Haha, that's a change you could make but it might not be a helpful 1. I get more out of my day if up before 7a, but it's hard in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @Sheamus Not quite the same thing, but Marvel held a day of free digital issues and new artwork yesterday for their 2mill like. in reply to Sheamus #
  • As for my small changes: seeing an earlier # on the clock when I awake & coming home to a wired-up recording studio. Almost there on both! #
  • @toofeets On the other side of that, I always make it a point to pass praise onto a manager when I have an excellent retail interactions. in reply to toofeets #
  • @IONRyan I don't know that I love it, but it really changes the day for me. Lets me have downtime at 5-7 & still have hours to be productive in reply to IONRyan #
  • @SarahRobinson I remain in genuine awe of your daily juggling act ;) in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @brimil Seriously, if that won't wake you up in the morning I'm not sure what will. Had to switch eventually for risk of wearing it out. in reply to brimil #
  • @brimil For a minute I didn't realize the context of your tweet and thought you were singing this! "Don't Make Me Over" http://t.co/ITXzFRm #
  • @sethgoldstein Good morning, Seth! I saw your retweet. What sort of change are you wishing for today? #
  • @leesaarobertson Thanks for the RT yesterday, Leesa! Sometimes I simply need to stop and remind myself to be myself :) #
  • Great quick reinforcer: RT @cubanalaf Agree w/a lot of this: 7 Performance Metrics that Matter Most http://t.co/CyrNpG8 h/t @rebeccadenison #
  • I hate eyes closed time in yoga. It always feels like it's going to turn into a game of 7-Up. #
  • And, as if as one my entire tweet stream turns into hallelujah's about @Spotify coming the US: http://t.co/EWWU5FZ #
  • I've been asked to talk about my professional skillset a few times today. It's ooky to do, but we shouldn't leave it just for job interviews #
  • I love selling hard as a reference for someone whose work I adore and finding out they got the gig. Way more fun than recommending bands ;) #
  • @phillybosslady What? I picture you in heels with perfect hair from dawn to dusk. Probably cute PJs, too ;) in reply to phillybosslady #
  • @RoxieKat I call that my "ideal travel meal"- every train station has some form of it, it's quick, not messy, and can be eaten quick or slow in reply to RoxieKat #
  • @AntiFreeze The collective unconcious fixates its mind on you and you wind up with a cascade of attention for five minutes ;) in reply to AntiFreeze #
  • @RoxieKat mmm, maybe I need to come over to sample it for myself to make sure you're right ;o in reply to RoxieKat #
  • @MeghanMBiro RT'd because I definitely agree! Have a great quote pinned at my desk along the same lines that I'll have to tweet you tomorrow in reply to MeghanMBiro #
  • Good morning! If you could make yourself remember something all day – an item, an action, a mantra, anything – what would it be? #
  • @estheribrown Oh my – yesterday was too hot even for a walk, as far as I was concerned. Hopefully you're early enough to beat the heat! in reply to estheribrown #
  • @SarahRobinson Good morning! I got extra sleep, as I'm attempting a new challenge today: Zumba. As my g-ma would say: god give me strength in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @JoshShear I don't know that I've EVER had a bad customer experience at a Home Depot. Says something about their culture & training. in reply to JoshShear #
  • @AmyAllStar @gloriabell What I want to know is, when is it going to be very entertaining with YOU again. Sometime soon? in reply to AmyAllStar #
  • @LaPhemmePhoodie Seriously #sogrossout I've retreated to waking up early to commute sans baking plus all-linen ensembles. Still #sogrossout in reply to LaPhemmePhoodie #
  • @SarahRobinson Supposedly the individual instructor picks about 25% of the music, so their taste is a quarter of the experience. in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • Not sure I've even missed my iPod on commutes this week. I have all my fav music on the cloud player known as my brain for instant replay ;) #
  • @AllThingsGwen Ugh, they hurt like hell. I had been putting mine off for years before I finally caved at my last visit. in reply to AllThingsGwen #
  • @jacmmkay Make it so! That sounds like a perfect geek hangout. They can have plush dino chairs like the bears in upstairs of Midtown Cont. in reply to jacmmkay #
  • @MeghanMBiro "One has only to observe who gets promoted, rewarded, & punished to figure out the values of an organization." -Kouzes & Posner in reply to MeghanMBiro #
  • Now to attack the absolutely mountainous amount of proofreading on my desk. Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more! #
  • @sethgoldstein Really? I'm highly skeptical of Google's forays into SM. I want my Google services on an island away from my social identity. in reply to sethgoldstein #
  • @JettSuperior Thanks for RTing me yesterday! Everyone should be able to talk about their graces & faults, & not just in an interview pinch. #
  • @JohnLauber Good morning! What's in store for you today? Any Kettlebells? in reply to JohnLauber #
  • @JohnLauber High energy today; going to fit in some kind of cardio after work and then head out for a pre-friend's-wedding karaoke bash :) in reply to JohnLauber #
  • @JohnLauber I'm not made for intervals (& I tried!) so I'm focusing more on flexibility this season. Don't want to "ugh" when I bend over! in reply to JohnLauber #
  • @jacmmkay At the very least you should have a party with that theme :) in reply to jacmmkay #
  • @gloriabell @AmyAllStar Anything 7/18 and after is better for me. Shall we take this convo to Email or FB? in reply to gloriabell #
  • I was ready for the core body challenge of my 1st Pilate class, but not prepared for the nastiness towards me as the sole XY in the room. #
  • @MeghanMBiro Definitely. There is certainly a motivational factor from the org in leading from within/below that lacks when rewards are off. in reply to MeghanMBiro #
  • @Not_Pele VERY. Almost to the point that I left. Wonder how that would go down with a woman in one of the kickboxing classes… in reply to Not_Pele #
  • I like this. Consider it replaced for the month! #WIN RT @MVMNT_Mike What if we replaced #FAIL with #LEARN #
  • @MVMNT_Mike Decided that a touch of commentary was better than the straight RT :) – how are you?! in reply to MVMNT_Mike #
  • @platypusjones I took it in and out of the list about 3x, along with X-Tinction Agenda. For M, decided alt universe is just not a good intro in reply to platypusjones #
  • @platypusjones I'll probably do an "X-Men 201" guide with those two, X-Factor v3, X-Force v3, & some other strong & relevant stories. in reply to platypusjones #
  • Few things annoy me more than banks or credit cards casually informing me their service (& my account!) has been sold to another brand. #
  • I think my annoyance comes from a place of brand loyalty. I had my money in YOUR bank, not the bank/brand you sold to (which I may despise). #
  • @SiDawson Had that experience (and worse!) when Chase bought my credit card – they proactively messed up my amazing credit score. in reply to SiDawson #
  • @AllThingsGwen Tried pilates for the 1st time. Unsure if I liked it, but need to find a way to loosen hamstrings, my only inflexible part. #
  • How has your day been so far? What are you looking forward to doing before it's over? #
  • @estheribrown During July and August I am happy to keep my exercise constrained to the gym ;) in reply to estheribrown #

  • @gloriabell @AmyAllStar OMG, have you experienced the @tacobelltruck??? in reply to gloriabell #
  • @ChuckHall Please share if you get solid recs! Tried a few, but don't seem to work consistently. Better to have a theme w/mobile built in? in reply to ChuckHall #
  • @Iconic88 wrapping up the work day back in humid PA – trying to select my goals for the evening. in reply to Iconic88 #
  • @gloriabell I hope the Philly @foursquare specials catch up to the NYC high standard. It's so much more fun to play there, more feedback! in reply to gloriabell #
  • @not_pele Mmm, live. Must DL. RT @Eisley: Ambulance is on a @PureVolume summer playlist series comprised of live tracks http://t.co/RlvCgXi #
  • @Morningkill @beebow @missdetails Are they really not teaching it in grade schools?! That's wild. As if writing anything by hand is extinct. in reply to Morningkill #

  • @singlesteph380 Steph, I lost touch the week after #140conf while I was sick – what happened with cooking school? Still too much $? in reply to singlesteph380 #
  • @platypusjones Agreed. Similarly, 2nd Coming would make no sense (or resonation) for a newbie. in reply to platypusjones #
  • @platypusjones I actually considered one of the Decimation books for that reason, but they are universally out of print. in reply to platypusjones #
  • @platypusjones Definitely interested in talking about other "Intro" topics with you. Maybe you can be my X-counterpoint in future posts :) in reply to platypusjones #
  • @MVMNT_Mike Trying to wrap up some mistakes & a CRAZY two months ending w/BFF's wedding on Sat; finding the next few opportunities to learn. in reply to MVMNT_Mike #

  • @GinoTheFilipino @platypusjones I love some of the line right now (NM/UXF/XFa) but worry about quality of post-Schism flagships (hate Aaron) in reply to GinoTheFilipino #
  • @platypusjones If you aren't reading Uncanny X-Force hit Amazon for the two hardcovers. Seriously the best X out right now @GinoTheFilipino in reply to platypusjones #
  • @GinoTheFilipino The past two arcs of NM were great, skeptical on the new creative team. Legacy & X-Factor usually strong. Gen Hope SUCKS. in reply to GinoTheFilipino #
  • @GinoTheFilipino @platypusjones Similarly, I have every X-book TPB ever to exist in my house, so let me know if we must have a nerd party :) in reply to GinoTheFilipino #
  • @platypusjones Deadpool & Psylocke, Fantomax written w/depth, & Remender seems to know every piece of X-continuity errata @ginothefilipino in reply to platypusjones #

  • I must have good karma in queue: JUST received back-to-back awesome news on two upcoming projects. Can't wait until my embargo is lifted :) #

  • @AllThingsGwen But I want those hams flexible 24/7, not just when I'm inside the microwave. Hey now that I can drive I can work out w/you :) in reply to AllThingsGwen #
  • Morale booster: entire bar freaked OUT when I sang "Love Game" @ karaoke. To be fair, they freak out about for any good dance song. Still. #
  • Good morning! What's the best news you've heard all week, whether about your own life or friends/family? #
  • @swichi293 What a fantastic (and true!) quote. What's the source (forgive me if you said it in a previous tweet, I'm mobile at the moment ;) in reply to swichi293 #
  • @SarahRobinson Good morning! Clearly chatting with you is keeping me rising early, because I was on the dancefloor about 5.5 hours ago ;) in reply to SarahRobinson #
  • @MelGreiner Was going to specifically exclude that, but if it's really the best (I'd say an extra hr of hanging w/me every day is better ;) in reply to MelGreiner #
  • @AllThingsGwen @melissa_shae That would be so cool & motivating! I'm going to start doing an every Saturday workout with another friend, too in reply to AllThingsGwen #
  • @MelGreiner Fair enough. Did my eyes spy our/your new campaign launching on FB last night? in reply to MelGreiner #

  • @LaPhemmePhoodie That was certainly part of my strategy, yes :) in reply to LaPhemmePhoodie #
  • Woman greens her front yard into a boxed garden…and gets charged w/a misdemeanor! http://bit.ly/r1LYY1 Quotes from city's planner are awful! #
  • @Glumpish @kenlowery I know, RIGHT!?! And Black Widow. And Gollum. in reply to Glumpish #

  • @redmoonriver It's alarming how little time I've spent playing for myself this year. Really marks a shift in my relationship with it. in reply to redmoonriver #
  • @saranmatthews I usually throw in "car backfire," but yes, that is the standard Philadelphia streets game. in reply to saranmatthews #
  • @JuliaEveHays Eek! Sounds like surroundings got it much worse than in Philly, where it seemed to be mostly noise. in reply to JuliaEveHays #
  • @djmarilyn Part of my hesitance on G+ is not deciding which ID I want to engage. Did you make a new Gmail, or use your existing DJMarilyn? in reply to djmarilyn #
  • When they said park in the field for some reason I didn't think it would be a literal field. Another driving 1st. http://twitpic.com/5nlcuw #
  • …and then I lost my car keys in a field. #
  • To recap: Lost keys in field. Stripped nude in field in case keys were stuck to me. Crawled around field in a 1' wide grid. Keys still lost. #
  • Someone brings a metal detector to most outdoor wedding, right? I mean, rings do get dropped at these things, I imagine… #
  • The grandmother of the bride looks like Lady Gaga at 3x the age. It is totally awesome. #
