What I Tweeted, 2011-08-14 Edition

August 14, 2011 by krisis

My tweets of the last week:

  • Worked up a sweat learning new 70s & 80s covers for our monster 3hr acoustic set @ All Fired Up pottery studio for 2nd Saturday Collingswood #
  • Look! I posted to my blog: Crushing On: WordPress Editorial Calendar plugin http://bit.ly/pRsqQx #
  • Love how @ericsmithrocks emailed me about our photoshoot to ask if I was getting “dolled up,” to which I replied, “no…except, well, yeah.” #
  • Good morning! What’s the best thing this week holds in store for you? #
  • For me this week is a whirlwind of rock: photo shoot tonight, Rad Bromance show Tues, rehearsal Weds/Thurs, playing in Collingswood on Sat. #
  • @amanda_nan Good lord, 87 boxes? That might be more boxes than WE had, and we were ENTRENCHED in that old house. in reply to amanda_nan #
  • @melissa_shae I love Maine! It makes me want to be quaint, buy touristy t-shirts, and sketch lighthouses in a little book. in reply to melissa_shae #
  • @amanda_nan Before I got to the line break I was thinking, “17lbs of liquor is really not all that much.” in reply to amanda_nan #
  • @amanda_nan Well, you’ve seen our liquor shelf pre-@arcati81’s wedding cleaning it out. That was a lot of liquor to pack :) in reply to amanda_nan #
  • A special #MusicMonday sneak peek at one of my fav Arcati Crisis songs newly dressed w/bass & three-part harmony! http://t.co/WchO5Gc #
  • Look! I posted to my blog: #MusicMonday “The Fight” – Sia http://bit.ly/p4AnWS #
  • @brimil That log flume photo is a classic :) Any interest in joining me & bro for Rad Bromance tomorrow night at WCL? in reply to brimil #
  • @brimil Only the world’s premiere all-male Lady Gaga rock cover band. I hear rapturous things about them; converted bro to be a Gaga fan. in reply to brimil #
  • @HennArtOnline @heathermeeker @melrosematt Only one of the best songs OF ALL TIME :) in reply to HennArtOnline #
  • Guys, if you want to start some fun conversation, stand at the mirror in your office men’s room touching up your makeup for a few minutes. #
  • (Duh, it’s for my photoshoot. Can’t look like a proper rock star with bags under eyes and a giant mosquito bite on my neck!) #
  • @heathermeeker @maryannewendt @HennArtOnline @melrosematt Had to specifically add Out of Touch to the H&O rotation due to coworker lobby :) in reply to heathermeeker #
  • Tucked into @tmoms for our @jumpphilly shoot -a rare bar where I always feel instantly comfortable. Wish there were more chances to play it! #
  • @Not_Pele @amanda_nan …and that I was trying hard to get the cute one’s # for you? ;) in reply to Not_Pele #
  • Every time I see @ericsmithrocks my 1st reaction is, “Omg, when was the last time I wrote a chapter in my book?!” Can’t wait for @nanowrimo. #
  • @JoPincushion Please be aware that is my favorite move of all time. in reply to JoPincushion #
  • Messed up: Stranger read my review of an indie LP & emailed to ask me upload it for them! Maybe it if was OOP, but steal from an indie band? #
  • Not that I haven’t begged an LP copy from a friend, but asking a random reviewer to give you the LP? Do we expect everything to be free now? #
  • Related: Several kids approached me on the El platform, asked what magazine I was reading, & then took it OUT OF MY HANDS. What is going on? #
  • Granted, they were twiggy kids I could have probably thrown off of the platform, but I looked like my typical cross-legged effeminate self. #
  • I’m starting to think that all concept of value, both in currency and morals, is seeping out of the world. #
  • @toofeets I had a fight or flight moment but I decided to just keep talking to them about the mag and they eventually laughed & gave it back in reply to toofeets #
  • @platypusjones I get that people expect a lot of music to be free, but to say “I listened to some songs & liked it, can you send it to me”?? in reply to platypusjones #
  • @parkview I desperately wanted to be an adult. I didn’t even want to laugh on a bus! Guess it requires the promise of anything in adulthood. in reply to parkview #
  • @picture_philly Even more ridiculous, that I didn’t immediately respond with “WHAT THE EFF,” but that’s the tenor of Philly at the moment. in reply to picture_philly #
  • @brimil @toofeets Happy I’ve got my license now so I don’t have to be so reliant on nighttime SEPTA – especially w/guitar. in reply to brimil #
  • @Tmoms Always a pleasure :) in reply to Tmoms #
  • @marykateruf Are you insinuating I could not have knocked them out with a move from Lito’s cardio box? in reply to marykateruf #
  • @marykateruf The elbow shuffles are deadly. They have momentum on their side. There is similar Zumba move that is more of a karate chop. in reply to marykateruf #
  • Look! I posted to my blog: X-Men Collected Editions Review, July 2011 http://bit.ly/qDVM74 #
  • Good morning! Focusing on the personal and the positive today, what’s something you LOVE about yourself? #
  • @Not_Pele Uh, yeah, that’s not actually due to be out until later this morning. Sometimes I forget WP works on military time. in reply to Not_Pele #
  • @Not_Pele 13:15, not 1:15. in reply to Not_Pele #
  • I don’t think of using a photo of a nuclear family as the more inclusive option. Use one parent; let the reader imagine a narrative. Agree? #
  • @ChatterBlast If I have any say in creative I try to tell the brand’s story, err on leaving the visual narrative to the mind of the consumer in reply to ChatterBlast #
  • Peeked at my 1yr and 5yr goals from 2006…and I’ve totally nailed them both. Nice to know I’m on a path even when it seems like I’m wandering #
  • Look! I posted to my blog: Better (excerpt) – Arcati Crisis, Live @ Rehearsal http://bit.ly/pMzReo #
  • @ChatterBlast Probably true! It looks like I may have the chance to produce a comic in the next year – one of the things on my “Dream List” in reply to ChatterBlast #
  • I decided it’s time to start putting my depthless X-Men obsession to use by starting a column on new X-graphic novels: http://bit.ly/qDVM74 #
  • @CoverPuppy Being funny is a great thing to be ;) When I grew up I always wanted to be a stand-up comedian, but I’m not good at being funny in reply to CoverPuppy #
  • @torrez Oh dear. in reply to torrez #
  • @jennlyn81 As a comm person you get that :) in reply to jennlyn81 #
  • @jennlyn81 Yes, and VISIT YOU to go out. in reply to jennlyn81 #
  • Spending the night as 20yr old: hit gym w/interns, now @ Rad Bromance w/bro & college friends. Does this mean I must drink low shelf vodka? #
  • @anniemal My proudest Philly sports moment was championship parade watching from the @ibx caf as he shook his big green butt on the lead car in reply to anniemal #
  • @dls337 Could we possibly get two of those a week? Also: cucumber sorbetto. Amazing. in reply to dls337 #

  • Pluses of going out w/half-a-dozen 20-yr-olds: They appreciate you picking up the tab, even tho it’s less than you would drop on happy hour. #
  • Minuses? Telling concert stories from before they were in Pre-K. #
  • @brimil saw Madonna before they were BORN. in reply to brimil #

  • @CoverPuppy Manage typically un-funny communications, blog in an occasionally amusing way, & front a definitely smirk-inducing rock band :) in reply to CoverPuppy #
  • @gloriabell Oh, two is plenty – I like a background thing to keep me focused on the primary, like music while working, or TV while blogging. in reply to gloriabell #
  • @hollyjophoto May I use your photo of the lead singer of Rad Bromance in a blog post about them, with caption credit & link back to you? #
  • @hollyjophoto Alternately, do you have a (C) watermark version of that photo? I see it online a lot, you should get credit as the source! #
  • Look! I posted to my blog: Crushing On: Rad Bromance http://bit.ly/nF8CXo #
  • @hollyjophoto I’ll go and add it right now; it’s the link I just tweeted. in reply to hollyjophoto #
  • @hollyjophoto I inserted it into the post with a credit to you in caption & hovertag, plus the photo is linked (& pulled from) Flickr. in reply to hollyjophoto #

  • @adeceve Me too! I feel like if I can fill my entire stomach with OJ no possible malingering bug can possibly survive the onslaught. in reply to adeceve #

  • @brainpicker LOVE! Someone sent me similar cards with evocative names printed on each one, like “Lime, Flame, Tangerine.” Hanging at my desk in reply to brainpicker #
  • @ChatterBlast Strip at first, collecting it into a book/zine eventually. Of course, I want to do a comic of my entire @nanowrimo novel :) in reply to ChatterBlast #
  • @JustInTheSouth Good morning, Justin! What’s in store for you today? in reply to JustInTheSouth #
