What is the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 1st Annual Poll?

The Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 1st Annual Poll is a chance for comic fans across the internet to vote on their top omnibuses from DC Comics that don’t yet exist.

An “omnibus” is a premium format oversize hardcover volume that typically collects 15 to 60 issues of a single character, team, title, creator, or major storyline. The team behind the poll has researched DC’s history from the 1930s to the present day to list nearly 500 potential titles that account for the vast majority of DC comics that have never been comprehensively collected in omnibus format.

Tigereyes has organized a similar poll for the past 12 years for Marvel Comics, which has yielded thousands of votes and hundreds of omnibus titles. For the past two years, Omar from Near Mint Condition has shared the top vote-getters with the collected editions department at Marvel.

Is it a coincidence that many of those top results were published in the following years? You decide!

How to vote on the What is the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 1st Annual Poll

Voting on the poll is NOW OPEN!

Voting began after an intense and intensely-fun three hour Near Mint Condition YouTube stream on Sunday May 19 @ 2:30pm US ET, where we walked through EVERY SINGLE BOOK on the list – yes, really, that’s nearly 600 book discussed live.

Each voter can select up to 10 of their most-wanted DC omnibuses. Their #1 pick will get 10 points, their #2 pick will get 9 points, and so on – down to just 1 point for their final pick.

After the poll closes, the Near Mint Condition team will tabulate the results, which will be announced on a Near Mint Condition YouTube stream on Sunday June 2 @ 2:30pm US ET.

Tigereyes is a comics fan who first dreamt up the idea of conducting an omnibus poll for Marvel on comic book forums back in 2013.

Voting Options on the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 1st Annual Poll

We know 500 titles are a lot of options to browse, especially in the dropdowns on the poll! Even if you already know exactly what your Top 10 omnibuses will be, you might not be sure of their exact title on the poll.

To help you prepare for your vote, all of the titles are listed below. You can review lists grouped by character, team, or comic line for in-depth explanations of every volume. Or, just scroll through the alphabetical list of titles exactly as it appears on the poll!

If you don’t see a title you want to vote for, leave a comment here or on the announcement stream. Krisis, Omar, & the rest of the team will try to help you find what you were looking for – or, we’ll add it to the list for 2025 if it wasn’t covered by our research this year.

One important note: We never titled past a single volume of an omnibus line unless there was an OBVIOUS stopping point after a second volume. Whenever you see that the poll includes multiple consecutive titles for a comic run, we did that because a creator change or cast change created a natural breaking point between books

If there was no natural break point, we simply said “(YEAR & on)” in the title to indicate the line would continue. That prevents voters from splintering votes across titles that might not ever exist.

Example: The poll include two omnibuses for Suicide Squad by John Ostrander, because it obviously ends after the second volume.

Example: The poll includes many different omnibuses from Wonder Woman (1987) and Wonder Woman (2016) because creators-runs were almost always omnibus-sized.

Example: For Superman Triangle era, we only have a single title option after Death & Return: “Superman: The Triangle Era, Death & Return Aftermath (1993 & on) [by Karl Kesel, Roger Stern, & David Michelinie].” While we could keep mapping from there to the end of the Triangle Era, those maps would be ambiguous and would lead to splintered voting.

Example: The same is true for Green Lantern’s series as it transitions to Green Lantern Corps in the 1980s. We simply listed “Green Lantern: Hal Jordan & The Green Lantern Corps Vol. 1 (1979 & on) [follows Hard Travelin’ Heroes omni]”

Example: The same is true for Post-Crisis Batman, which is simply listed as “Batman: The Post-Crisis Omnibus Vol. 1 (AKA Caped Crusader / Dark Knight Detective) (1987 & on) [starts from Year One].” We know there are in-demand creator runs in there, but they all cut across the material in awkward ways.
