Every Missing Non-Superhero Silver Age Omnibus, Mapped | 13th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2025 My Love Silver Age Omnibus MappingIt’s the most wonderful time of the year for Marvel Omnibus fans – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every Silver Age omnibus that does NOT exist for non-superheroes – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

I’ll be covering Marvel’s entire publishing history by mapping missing omnibus volumes to fill in every gap in your Marvel oversize shelf! That’s all leading to the kickoff of the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot on Near Mint Condition on April 28, 2025.

This post covers non-superhero comics from the 1950s and 1960s. That includes romance, Archie-style humor, westerns, war, and one particularly favorite Marvel parody comic.

If you’re not sure of what to vote for, stick around for a list of books vetted by a gang of the biggest mapping nerds on the internet with explanations from yours truly – keeper of the most-definitive guides to Marvel’s collected editions on the planet.

Or, if you don’t care about omnibuses, just use this post to learn about Marvel’s history and find some great comics to read!

This post covers the following speculated omnibus volumes:

  • Atlas Era Western Heroes: Kid Colt & The Two Gun Kid Vol. 1 (1948 & on)
  • Captain Savage and His Leatherneck Raiders & Combat Kelly and The Deadly Dozen (1967 – 1973)
  • Combat Kelly (1951 – 1957)
  • Marvel Romance: Chili, The Silver & Bronze Age Omnibus (1969 – 1973)
  • Marvel Romance: Girl Comics (1949 – 1952)
  • Marvel Romance: My Love (1949 – 1975)
  • Marvel Western by Jack Kirby (1957 & on)
  • Millie the Model Vol. 1 (1945 & on)
  • Not Brand Echh (1967 – 1973) [also includes Spoof, the 1970 5-issue parody comics]
  • Patsy Walker Vol. 1 (1945 & on) [includes Patsy & Hedy]
  • Rawhide Kid Vol. 1 (1955 & on)

Remember: These titles and mappings are a suggestion of how Marvel could assemble these books. They are meant to help you decide on your votes on the Tigereyes poll. Your vote on the poll is a vote in favor of Marvel creating a book with that title or covering that period, NOT an endorsement of a specific map. Maps are presented as a proof of concept and to help you build your personal reading list.

Marvel Non-Superhero Silver Age Omnibus Mapping

Atlas Era Western Heroes: Kid Colt & The Two Gun Kid Vol. 1 (1948 & on)

This would begin to collect both of these Atlas Era Western titles.

Kid Colt Outlaw (1948) ran for a staggering 30 years and 229 issues, shipping many original stories until the end.

Two-Gun Kid (1948) is another long-running Marvel western title that never had its own Masterworks line. It lasted until issue #136 in 1977, though the final few years of the title were all reprints.

Captain Savage and His Leatherneck Raiders & Combat Kelly and The Deadly Dozen (1967 – 1973)

This would combine the runs of a pair of spinoffs from Nick Fury’s years fronting the Howling Commandos, with Capt. Savage and His Leatherneck Raiders (1968) #1-19 and Combat Kelly and the Deadly Dozen (1972) #1-9, as well as some of their establishing appearances in Sgt. Fury.

Combat Kelly (1951 – 1957)

This would collect Combat Kelly (1951) #1-44

Marvel Romance: Chili, The Silver & Bronze Age Omnibus (1969 – 1973)

Chili was another of Marvel’s Archie-esque comics about a regular girl with a flair for romantic comedy. This is perhaps more notable than Millie & Patsy because it launched in the Summer of Love directly into the Bronze Age, and Stan Lee is credited with almost all of it! The book was seemingly cancelled after issue #17 in October 1970 only to return nearly two years later in August 1972 for its final run of issues.

This would collect Chili (1969) #1-26 & Annual 1

Marvel Romance: Girl Comics (1949 – 1952)

This listing is a relatively rare goof on our part! Fantagraphics covered Girl Comics (1949) #1-12 as part of their new Marvel Golden & Atlas era reprint program.

Marvel Romance: My Love (1949 – 1975)

The year range on this book is somewhat of a misnomer, since Marvel romance comic My Love only ran for an initial four issues in 1949. Marvel launched another romance book with My Love Story (1956) that only ran for nine issues (which had gorgeous covers).

However, the primary run in this omnibus would be My Love (1969), a comic released during Marvel’s superhero prime and on the cusp of the Bronze Age. This book is notable for having Marvel legends like John Romita Sr., Sal Buscema, and John Buscema drawing romance stories!

My hope is that purely from an art perspective there remains enough interest in this book for it to exist one day – though we’d definitely need an omnibus to capture its 50+ issues!

This would collect My Love (1949) #1-4, My Love Story (1956) #1-9, My Love (1969) #1-39, My Love Special (1971) #1

Marvel Western by Jack Kirby (1957 & on)

This would collect Kirby’s work on Black Rider (1957) #1, Quick Trigger Western (1956) #16, Gunsmoke Western (1955) #47, 51, 59, 62-67, 69-71, 73, 77, Kid Colt Outlaw (1949) #86, 93, 95-96, 119, Rawhide Kid (1960) #17-32, 34, 43, Two-Gun Kid (1953) #54-55, 57-62, Two Gun Western (1956) #12

Millie the Model Vol. 1 (1945 & on)

Mille the Model was Marvel’s longest running “just plain folks” title. No superheroes, no wars heroes, no western heroes… just a book about a blonde bombshell model with a humorous bent similar to Archie Comics.

Millie has nearly 300 pages of material and a low amount of interest from modern readers. Our best hope to see any kind of hunk of this recollected could lie not with a Marvel omnibus but with Fantagraphics and their Atlas-era reprint program. However, they’ve so far been collecting things in small bursts, and we need to see a compendium-sized blast to make a meaningful dent in this material.

This would begin to collect Millie the Model (1945) #1-207 & Annual #1-12, A Date With Millie (1956) #1-7, Life With Millie (1960) #8-20, Modeling with Millie (1962) #21-54, and Mad About Millie (1969) #1-16 & Annual 1.

Not Brand Echh (1967 – 1973) [also includes Spoof, the 1970 5-issue parody comics]

Even though many of the superhero-focused parodies of silly Marvel spoof comic Not Brand Echh (1967) have been picked up by their respective hero omnibuses, You can vote for Not Brand Echh as a standalone omnibus if you want! Its Marvel Masterworks was 400+ pages, so it would be a mid-sized volume. Plus, we can add the entirety of Spoof (1970).

This would collect Not Brand Echh (1967) #1-13 & (2017) #14; Spoof (1970) #1-5; and material from Daredevil (1964) Annual 1, Fantastic Four (1961) Annual 5, Sgt. Fury (1963) Annual 4, Avengers (1963) Annual 2, Amazing Spider-Man (1963) Annual 1 & 5

Patsy Walker Vol. 1 (1945 & on) [includes Patsy & Hedy]

Patsy Walker was another of Marvel’s “regular people” titles, although she has the distinction of later becoming a superhero in the Bronze Age – Hellcat!

There’s not a whisper of heroism in these books that combine humor and romance. The best time to push forward with a reprint may have been the brief period of notoriety Patsy enjoyed as Patsy while starring on Netflix’s Jessica Jones. I think I recall it being canonical in the show that her mother made comics about her???

Maybe if Patsy shows up eventually in Marvel’s revival of the Netflix heroes we can have another shot! Until then, your votes are our only hope. Thanks to the double-whammy of both Pasty’s own series and her series with her BFF Hedy, we would need at least five omnibuses to cover this material even if they were at modern 1000+ page size.

This would begin to collect Patsy Walker (1944) #1-124, Patsy and Hedy (1952) #1-110 & Annual 1, Patsy and her Pals (1953) #1-29, and A Date With Patsy (1957) #1

Rawhide Kid Vol. 1 (1955 & on)

While we combined Marvel’s other pair of Atlas Era western kids, we’ve left Rawhide Kid with his own entry for just one more year since he’s the Western character with the most forays into post-Silver Age comics.

This would collect Rawhide Kid (1955) #1-151 & Annual 1, Rawhide Kid (1985) #1-4, Rawhide Kid (2003) #1-5 [MAX], Rawhide Kid (2010) #1-4.
