Marvel UK Omnibus Mapping – Death’s Head, Dark Angel, & more! | 14th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

February 20, 2026 by krisis 4 Comments

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2026 - Marvel UK Omnibus Mapping - Deaths Head II 2 (1992) #10Once every year, thousands of Marvel collectors from around the world gather together online to watch Near Mint Condition and vote on their most-wanted omnibus titles. That time approaches – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 14th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every Marvel UK omnibus map – including Death’s Head & Dark Angel – for material that has not yet been collected comprehensively in omnibus – all of which will appear as options on the 2026 poll.

As one of the organizers of the poll, I work closely with Tigereyes and a team of Mapping Minties to be sure Marvel’s entire publishing history has been mapped, with every issue fitting somewhere into an omnibus volume to fill your oversize Marvel shelf. Then, we’ll kick off the poll on Near Mint Condition on March 22, 2026.

Sadly, Marvel hasn’t moved an inch on reprinting anything having to do with Marvel UK. That’s not surprising, since none of the characters have made any present day continuity appearances lately. We have just two Marvel UK omnibuses so far, both from 2022 – the massive Captain Britain Omnibus with all of his pre-Excalibur appearances and the subsequent Knights of Pendragon Omnibus (in which Captain Britain also appears). That latter book is the only example of a comprehensively collected Marvel UK series.

For this post, we’re just going to focus on Marvel’s own Marvel UK material – and not licensed Doctor Who or Transformers material, which made up the bulk of Marvel UK original content prior to 1990. Since none of these books or maps have changed since last year, I put in a little bit of extra oomph in adding new details to these write-ups to tempt you to vote for these books. I truly love them all (and own them all) and it would be a thrill to see Marvel print them all in omnibus.

I just need it to happen at a frequency higher than one per decade, because I might not live quite that long!

Read this post and others in the series for a list of titles and omnibus mappings created by a group of the biggest collected edition enthusiasts on the internet. Every map is informed by Crushing Krisis comic guides and over a decade of polling data as explained by yours truly – keeper of the most-definitive guides to Marvel’s collected editions on the planet.

Believe it or not, I have almost an entire Marvel UK reading order worked out… but, does anyone care? It’s one of those comic guides I would love to put in the time to build and post if I thought anyone other than me would use it!

Even if you don’t own a single omnibus, you can use this post to learn about Marvel’s history of material and find great comics to read physically or digitally!

This post covers the following speculated omnibus volumes:

  • Marvel UK Omnibus Mapping: The 1980s
    • Marvel UK: Night Raven (1979 – 1985)
    • Marvel UK: Death’s Head, The Complete Saga (1987 – 1991 (& 2019)) [could include all of Dragon’s Claws]
  • Marvel UK Omnibus Mapping: The 1990s
    • Marvel UK: Dark Angel (1992 – 1996) [also includes Wildthing]
    • Marvel UK: Death’s Head II (1992 – 1994)
    • Marvel UK: Motormouth & Killpower (1992 – 1994) [includes Battletide I & II]
    • Marvel UK Companion (1992 – 1994) [includes Warheads, Genetix, Black Axe, etc]
    • Captain Britain & MI13 by Paul Cornell (2007 – 2014) [could include Revolutionary War (2014)]

Remember: These titles and mappings are a suggestion of how Marvel could assemble these books. They are meant to make the books easy to find and to vote for. Your vote on the poll is a vote in favor of Marvel creating a book with that title or covering that period, NOT an endorsement of a specific mapping. Maps are presented as a proof of concept and to help you build your personal reading list.

Marvel UK Omnibus Mapping: The 1980s

Marvel UK: Night Raven (1979 – 1985)

This has already been printed as a 275-page trade paperback. I don’t think there is anything other than behind-the-scenes material that could be added to expand it. Despite it being slightly under our general guideline for a run of qualifying length, there is demand for this omnibus every year – so here it is!

A vote for this book is a vote to have that same Night Raven paperback material in an oversize format.

This would collects Night Raven material from Hulk Comic (1979) #1-20; Savage Action (1980) #1-4, 6, 8, & 12-15; Marvel Super-Heroes (UK) (1979) #382-386 & 389-395; The Daredevils (1983) #6-11; The Mighty World of Marvel (1983) #7-17; The Savage Sword of Conan (UK) (1977) #85-92; and Captain Britain (1985) #10-12.

Marvel UK: Death’s Head, The Complete Saga (1987 – 1991 (& 2019)) [could include all of Dragon’s Claws]

Marvel UK: Death's Head (1988) #1Death’s Head has a curious history at Marvel Comics, where he emerged from strips in Transformers UK (1984) and made an appearance in Dr. Who Magazine (1979) before he landed his own solo series.

While appearances in licensed books make omnibuses tricky to print, it’s not the insurmountable barrier that it used to be. We’ve seen Marvel reprint Godzilla (1977), Marvel and DC jointly print two volumes of their crossovers, and Skybound do a full reprint of Marvel’s GI Joe and Transformers – including the UK material!

Oh, plus Skybound is printing an Invincible omnibus with Spider-Man in it. We are living in an age of wonders.

In a world where all of that is possible, couldn’t we have an original Death’s Head omnibus as a little treat? Well… Death’s Head isn’t exactly making anyone Transformers or Invincible money, but at least the doorway is cracked open. If this book somehow, improbably cracked the Top 60 of the poll, Marvel’s process wouldn’t be any more or less complicated than it is for Akira appearing in the Top 20.

A vote for this book is a vote for Death’s Head, yes?

This would collect the High Noon Tex one-page intro script; material from Transformers UK (1984) #113-114, 117-118, 120, 133-134, & 146-151; material from Dr. Who Magazine (1979) #135; Dragon’s Claws (1988) #4-5 & 6 (AKA Goldilux); Death’s Head (1988) #1-10; Death’s Head: Body In Question (1990) #1; and material from the Life & Times of Death’s Head trade paperback and Incomplete Death’s Head #1-12 (which reprinted material in this list beginning with Dr. Who Magazine, also adding material from Dr. Who Magazine (1979) #140 & 173, Marvel Comics Presents (1988) #76, & The Sensational She-Hulk (1989) #24).

We could add Dragon’s Claws (1988) #1-10 to fill this out, since there’s no other place it could be collected. Also, we could extend this to include Death’s Head (2019) #1-4 – because… why not? Death’s Head also appeared briefly in Kieron Gillen’s Iron Man (2012), which could be excerpted here if we wanted more of a bridge to his modern material.

Marvel UK Omnibus Mapping: The 1990s

Marvel UK: Dark Angel (1992 – 1996) [also includes Wildthing]

Dark Angel (1992) #6Dark Angel was original known as Hell’s Angel until a copyright dispute with the motorcycle gang. I am not joking.

I’ve always been enamoured with Shevaun Haldane. She had a super-cool design, powers that merged infernal magic with technology, and a personality that distinguished her from a lot of the more-disposable Marvel UK characters.

This would primarily collect Hell’s Angel (1992) and its re-naming as Dark Angel (1992), which is chock full of Marvel guest stars, including various mutants. I’d also argue that it should double-dip the Knights of Pendragon Omnibus to include all of Mys-Tech Wars (1993) #1-4. Mys-Tech was a major plot element in this book and that mini-series was primarily an event crossover with Dark Angel.

Also, Dark Guard (1993) was really Dark Angel’s team, so it belongs here even more than it does below in Death’s Head II or with Motormouth & Killpower. Dark Angel is also in Battletide (1992) #1-4, but I think that should stay in the other hero volumes, below – she’s not the major player.

Finally, the resolution of Dark Angel’s story was only ever printed in black-and-white and in Italian – so we’d need to get that translated! Once again: I’m not joking! The graphic novel in question Marvel Top 6: Wild Angels (1996) OGN and, yes, I do own it. Plus, if we collect that, we could also collect the brief Wildthing (1993) here, who appears there alongside Dark Angel and really has nowhere else to be collected.

A vote for this book is to collect Dark Angel all in one place for the first time ever – including collecting one issue in English for the first time ever, which isn’t something we get to say too often about a Marvel comic book!

This would collect Hell’s Angel (1992) #1-5, Dark Angel (1992) #6-16, Mys-Tech Wars (1993) #1-4, Dark Guard (1993) #1-4, and an English translation of the Italian OGN Marvel Top 6: Wild Angels (1996) OGN, to which we’d add Wildthing (1993) #1-7 (since Wildthing co-stars in Wild Angels).

Marvel UK: Death’s Head II (1992 – 1994)

Marvel UK: Death's Head II (1992) #1I love this wretched, misbegotten character who looks like a half-melted action figure, often drawn with disproportionate beauty by Liam Sharp!

Somehow, Death’s Head II is a reconstituted version of the original Death’s Head. No, don’t ask me to explain. It’s some kind of timey wimey thing. Death’s Head II was a sort of Terminator-esque character… half Arnold’s original model and half the ruthless T-1000.

This would primarily collect 23 issues of Death’s Head II (1992), Death’s Head II 2 (1992), Death’s Head II & The Origin of Die-Cut (1993) #1-2, and Death’s Head Gold (1993). Also, he anchors Battletide (1992) and Battletide II (1993), although you might argue to simply include them in the Motormouth & Killerpower omnibus to make that more attractive to all of the massive Battletide fans out there (which might just be me).

Similarly, Death’s Head II is the co-lead of Dark Guard (1993) with Dark Angel, but that series is more at home in her omnibus – and there’s plenty of other material to include here! That’s because Death’s Head II also made a lot of guest appearances across the Marvel UK line, including in Warheads (1992) #5-7 and Black Axe (1993) #1-3. And, while Die Cut titles and other “Death” books don’t feature him directly, they all relate to his story in some way and have their best chance of being printed if they are included here.

A vote for this book is a vote for a hefty tome of everything Death’s Head II and DHII-adjacent all in one place.

This would primarily collect Death’s Head II (1992) #1-4, Death’s Head II 2 #1-16, Death’s Head II & The Origin of Die-Cut #1-2, and Death’s Head Gold, as well as optionally the event books Battletide (1992) #1-4, Battletide II (1993) #1-14, and Dark Guard (1993) #1-4. To that, it may add guest appearances Warheads (1992) #5-7, Black Axe (1993) #1-3, Mys-Tech Wars (1993) #3-4,

It could also collect a further 20 issues loosely related to Death’s Head II from Die Cut vs. G-Force (1993) #1-2, Die Cut (1993) #1-4, Death Wreck (1994) #1-4, Death3 (1993) #1-4, Death Metal (1994) #1-4, and Death Metal vs. Genetix (1993) #1-2. Death’s Head doesn’t appear in these issues, but they all relate directly to him. Also, if this has Black Axe (1993) #1-3, we might simply include #4-7 here as well to avoid needing to double dip them into a companion.

Marvel UK: Motormouth & Killpower (1992 – 1994)

Motormouth & Killpower was another UK book that found a unique flavor for Marvel, but it benefited from less buzz from American guest stars and flew under the radar more often than the prior two books.

Motormouth is a space-and-time jumping young punk turned fugitive from Mys-Tech with a technologically-enabled sonic scream. While on the lam, she meets Killpower, a genetically-engineered and lab-grown Mys-Tech hunter/killer with the mind of a child who needs to be taught everything – including morals.

While Marvel had other spunk super-screamers (and would soon create another with Songbird), the combination of her being a younger female character on the run and Killpower’s naiveté gave this book a flavor that wasn’t like anything else at Marvel – maybe more similar to Fallen Angels (1987) than anything else.

This book would be on the slimmer side, since the main Motormouth and Killpower comics only account for 16 issues. However Battletide (1992) and Battletide II are primarily Killpower comics, so they should definitely appear here. And, both characters appear throughout Mys-Tech Wars (1993) and Dark Guard (1993), which really could be in every Marvel UK omnibus. Even if we leave out Dark Guard (1993) here, obviously anything with Mys-Tech is going to be important to both of these characters.

A vote for this book is a vote to unearth this forgotten gem of Marvel UK and expose it to modern readers for the first time.

This would collect Motormouth (1992) #1-5, Motormouth & Killpower (1992) #6-12, Killpower: The Early Years (1993) #1-4, Battletide (1992) #1-4, and Battletide II (1993) #1-14. It could also add Mys-Tech Wars (1993) #1-4 and Dark Guard (1993) #1-4.

Marvel UK Companion (1992 – 1994) [includes Warheads, Genetix, Black Axe, etc]

This is an “everything else” volume that would collect all of the rest of the canonical Marvel UK outside of those three marquee heroes.

This would collect 18 issues of material from “”The Gene Pool”” – Genetix, Gun Runners, & Gene Dogs, which includes Codename: Genetix (1993) #1-6, Gene Dogs (1993) #1-4, and Gun Runner (1993) #1-6. We’d also add Death Metal vs. Genetix (1993) #1-2.

Then, it would collect 18 issues of material from Warheads from Warheads (1992) #1-14 and Warheads: Black Dawn (1993) #1-2.

Next, we’d collect 27 issues of other various in-continuity Marvel UK comics, including Black Axe (1993) #1-7 (if it isn’t all in Death’s Head II), Supersoldiers (1993) #1-8, Shadow Riders (1993) #1-4, Plasmer (1993) #1-4, Digitek (1992) #1-4.

We have separately mapped Wildthing (1993) #1-7 as supporting material Dark Angel. However this could also pick up Cyberspace 3000 (1993) #1-8, though it is set in the future so not in continuity with the rest of the line (to the best of my knowledge).

Captain Britain & MI13 by Paul Cornell (2007 – 2014) [could include Revolutionary War (2014)]

Captain Britain in Revolutionary War (2014) AlphaCaptain Britain has effectively been a non-mutant X-Men character since Excalibur debuted back in 1987, so why do I have a modern book of his material on the Marvel UK post?

First, this is the one time he broke free from the grip of X-Men continuity to do his own thing that didn’t involve mutants. Well… there were mutants, but they were all British.

This would primarily collect all of Paul Cornell’s run on Britain’s mutants and magic, though that comes with a tricky caveat. Marvel generally avoids collecting their MAX material alongside general Marvel series, as we’ve seen with Alias (2001) due to the difference in mature content.

Regardless of how that gets handled here, I think there’s also a weak argument to push ahead and collect all of Revolutionary War (2014) here, which revives all of the Marvel UK heroes of the early 1990s for a mini-event.

Ah-ha! Now you know why I included this in the UK post! Revolutionary War it doesn’t totally go with this material, but this is a brief omnibus and War also has Captain Britain. Since we can’t really justify an all-events Marvel UK omnibus, this is really the only place it fits – unless we tack it onto Motormouth & Killpower above just because it’s so short.

This would collect Wisdom MAX (2007) #1-6, Captain Britain & MI:13 (2008) #1-15 & Annual 1 and Women of Marvel: Spitfire (2010) #1 by Paul Cornell.

It could add the 8 Revolutionary War (2014) oneshots: Revolutionary War: Alpha, Dark Angel, Knights of Pendragon, Death’s Head II, Super Soldiers, Motormouth, Warheads, Omega

Regarding Night Raven, don’t forget his House of Card OGN and Fury/Black Widow: Death Duty (my introduction to him) appearances. As an FYI to anyone reading this, the Hulk Comic stories were collected in a trade back in 1990

Maybe there could be a Marvel Frontier Omnibus that combined all the material collected in the Marvel Frontier Comics trade with the Warheads stuff?
