Once every year, thousands of Marvel collectors from around the world gather together online to watch Near Mint Condition and vote on their most-wanted omnibus titles. That time approaches – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 14th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every 20th Century Fox omnibus map of material that has not yet been collected comprehensively in omnibus. Plus, our current #1 Most-Wanted book: an Indiana Jones omnibus!
As one of the organizers of the poll, I work closely with Tigereyes and a team of Mapping Minties to be sure Marvel’s entire publishing history has been mapped, with every issue fitting somewhere into an omnibus volume to fill your oversize Marvel shelf. Then, we’ll kick off the poll on Near Mint Condition on March 22, 2026.
Marvel has already taken advantage of their ability to reprint classic FOX properties like Alien, Predator, and Planet of the Apes. But, there are so many more comics that they potentially have the ability to reprint in the wake of Disney’s 2019 acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
Plus, while Indiana Jones is actually a LucasFilm property, we’ve included it here as well. Note that we removed Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics from the Marvel poll, as intel indicates that Dynamite now holds the reprint license for Buffy & Angel.
Many thanks to the Cerebro of comic book YouTube, James Abel, for his research and mapping expertise on these books!

Marvel 20th Century Fox Omnibus Mapping: Alien Omnibus Maps
Marvel has already comprehensively collected all of Dark Horses’s classic Alien material. However, Marvel has now exercised the license for half a decade on their own, which has yielded enough material for an omnibus. See my Guide to Alien comics for more information.
Alien, The Modern Years (2021 & on)
Marvel’s modern Alien comics don’t stick to any one timeline or plot thread about the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, though there are hints of it in each series. What Marvel has done often that prior films and comics have often shied away from is bring Aliens much closer to Earth.
This would begin to collect Marvel’s modern Alien comics, Alien (2021-2022) #1-12, Alien Annual (2022) #1, Alien (2022-2023) #1-6, Aliens Aftermath (2021) #1 , Alien (2023) #1-5, Alien (2023-2024) #1-4, Alien Annual (2023) #1 , Alien Black, White & Blood (2024) #1-4 , Aliens What If… (2024) #1-5, Alien Romulus (2024) #1, Alien Paradiso (2024–2025) #1-5, Alien Killer (2025) #1-5
It would probably omit Aliens vs. Avengers (2024-2025) #1-4 and Aliens vs. Captain America (2015) #1-5, saving them for a future potential “Aliens vs Marvel” omnibus.
Marvel 20th Century Fox Omnibus Mapping: Alien vs Predator Omnibus Maps
Marvel has already entirely collected all of the classic Dark Horse Alien and Predator comics. See my Guide to Alien comics, or just bully me until I finally make a Guide to Predator (eventually).
While there might be enough modern Alien comics to scrounge together an omnibus, it still feels like a line that hasn’t entirely taken a shape so we haven’t rushed to map anything. Same for the current run of “Predator vs.” books mashing up Predator with Marvel heroes.
However, there are three more omnibuses of classic Aliens versus Predator content to collect!
Alien vs. Predator: The Original Years Vol. 1 (1990 & on)
Marvel has separately tackled their Alien and Predator omnibuses lines, completely covering the Dark Horse years of material from each. But, they’ve never covered that same period of the versus material, which was a convention invented in the comics long before it crossed over to the film franchise.
This would begin to collect Aliens vs. Predator (1990) #0-4, Aliens vs. Predator Annual (1999) #1, Aliens vs. Predator: Duel (1995) #1-2, Aliens vs. Predator: Eternal (1998) #1-4, Aliens vs. Predator: War (1995) #0-4, Aliens vs. Predator: Booty (1996) #1, Aliens vs. Predator: Xenogenesis (1999) #1-4, Aliens/Predator: The Deadliest of the Species (1993) #1-12, and material from Dark Horse Comics (1992) #25, Dark Horse Insider (1992) #1-14, Dark Horse Presents (1986) #34-36 & 146-147, and Previews (1988) #77-88.
Alien vs. Predator vs. DC (1997 – 2007)
This is one of the scant few books on this poll that will appear on both the Marvel poll and the DC poll!
That’s because Marvel wasn’t too keen on its heroes being murdered by Aliens and Predators prior to Disney absorbing FOX, but DC (and WildStorm) were totally game! That means there is a ton of awesome superhero mash-up comics that could be collected in one place… and it’s not clear if Marvel or DC would collect them.
This would collect Aliens material (Aliens: Batman/Aliens (1997) #1-2, WildC.A.T.s/Aliens (1998) #1, Batman/Aliens II (2002) #1-3, Green Lantern vs. Aliens (2000) #1-4, Superman vs. Aliens (1995) #1-3, Superman/Aliens 2: God War (2002) #1-4), Predator material (Predator: Batman Versus Predator (1991) #1-3, Batman Versus Predator II (1994) #1-4, Batman Versus Predator III (1997) #1-4, and Superman vs. Predator (2000) #1-3), and AvP material (Aliens vs. Predator: Superman and Batman versus Aliens and Predator (2007) #1-2)
Alien vs. Predator: Fire & Stone and Life & Death (2014 – 2017)
Dark Horse relaunched their use of the Aliens license in the 2010s, mostly focused around the resurgence of the Alien film franchise with Prometheus. That comics continuity quickly leaned into connecting to Alien vs. Predator lore, which means this would be part of an AvP omnibus line.
This would combine the contents of “Prometheus: The Complete Fire and Stone” and the entire “Life & Death” saga. It would include Alien vs. Predator: Fire and Stone (2014) #1-4, Aliens: Fire and Stone (2014) #1-4, Dark Horse Presents (2014) #2, Predator: Fire and Stone (2014) #1-4, Prometheus: Fire and Stone (2014) #1-4, Prometheus: Fire and Stone – Omega (2015) One-Shot, Alien Vs. Predator: Life and Death (2016) #1-4, Aliens: Life And Death (2016) #1-4, Predator: Life And Death (2016) #1-4, Prometheus: Life and Death (2016) #1-4, and Prometheus: Life and Death Final Conflict (2017) One-Shot
Marvel 20th Century Fox Omnibus Mapping: Firefly & Serenity Omnibus Maps
As far as our crack team of researching Mapping Minties can divine, Marvel seems to hold the rights to reprint this material – or, at least, no one else holds the rights at the moment!
With Nathan Fillion making noise about a potential Firefly animated universe, this would be a fine time to see this material recollected in Marvel omnibus!
Firefly & Serenity, The Dark Horse Years (2005 – 2017)
This would collect Serenity (2005) #1-3, Serenity Better Days (2008) #1-3, Serenity The Other Half Mini Web-Comic (2010), Serenity Downtime Mini Web-Comic (2010), Serenity The Shepherd’s Tale (2010), Serenity Float Out (2010), Serenity Free Comic Book Day (2012) #1, Serenity Leaves on the Wind (2014) #1-6, Serenity Free Comic Book Day (2016) #1, Serenity No Power in the ’Verse (2016-2017) #1-6.
Firefly & Serenity, The BOOM Years (2018 – 2024)
This would collect Firefly (2018-2022) #1-36, Firefly Bad Company (2019) #1, Firefly Free Comic Book Day (2019) #1, Firefly The Sting (2019), Firefly Outlaw Ma Reynolds (2020) #1, Firefly Blue Sun Rising (2020) #0-1, Firefly Watch How I Soar (2020), Firefly Brand New ‘Verse (2021) #1-6, Firefly River Run (2021) #1, Firefly Holiday Special #1 (2011), All New Firefly (2022) #1-10, Firefly 20th Anniversary Special (2022) #1, Firefly Keep Flying (2022) #1, All New Firefly Big Damn Finale (2022) #1, Firefly The Fall Guys (2023-2024) #1-6, Firefly ‘Verses (2024) #1, Firefly Malcolm Reynolds Year One (2024) #1.
This could also pick up stories from the BOOM-era Deluxe Editions: Ballad of Chang-Benitez (Unification War), Queen of the Night (Blue Sun Rising), and The Appointment (Return to the Earth That Was).
Marvel 20th Century Fox Omnibus Mapping: Firefly & Serenity Omnibus Maps
While we have intel that Marvel may not be the ones to reprint The Simpsons (more on that below), I haven’t heard any whispers of similar for Futurama.
Futurama (2000 & on)
This would begin to collect Futurama Comics (2000-2017) #1-83, Futurama Returns (2007) #1, Futurama / Simpsons Infinitely Secret Crossover Crisis (2022-2003) #1-2, The Simpsons / Futurama Crossover Crisis II (2005) #1-2, Futurama Comics Annual (2018) #1
Marvel 20th Century Fox Omnibus Mapping: Indiana Jones Omnibus Maps
Marvel first held the Indiana Jones license in the 80s, during which time they adapted all three original films and told the continuing stories of Indiana in a 1983 ongoing series. Then, Dark Horse held the license starting from 1991, producing both additional “present day” stories for Indiana (still in our past) as well as a 12-issue The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1992).
Indiana Jones: The Original Marvel Years (1983 – 1989)
It’s our top-ranked omnibus champion of the past two years! Can it go for a hat trick? And, will Marvel ever pay attention and print this book?
Those are both interesting questions. This is not A FOX property, but a LucasFilm one. While Disney has the ability to print and license that IP freely, as with Star Wars it seems as though it may come with some extra burdens when it comes to approvals. And, Indiana Jones doesn’t have a braintrust of continuity managers attached to it like Star Wars does.
Also, there’s the matter of how to best make a splash with this hotly anticipated material. Would Marvel make it widely-seen enough by releasing it to the comic book direct market? I really don’t think so. Given the outsized success of Kickstarter campaigns for nostalgia properties like G.I. Joe, Transformers, Power Rangers, Labyrinth, and Hellraiser, I think Marvel would be insane not to go a Kickstarter route with the two-omnibus set of this material.
This would collect Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) #1-3, The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones (1983) #1-34, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) #1-3 Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) #1-4, and material from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Magazine (1989) #1.
This could also include newspaper strips, promotional comics, etc
Indiana Jones: The Dark Horse Years Vol. 1 (1991 & on) [includes Young Indiana]
After Marvel’s Indiana Jones license concluded it was picked up by Dark Horse alongside their Star Wars license. They kicked off both with additional adult Indiana adventures that could be further films and with The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1992) to support a TV adaption of the character played by River Phoenix in the films.
This would begin to collect Dark Horses’s Indiana Jones comics: The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1992) #1-12, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (1991) #1-4, Indiana Jones: Thunder in the Orient Vol. 1 (1993) #1-6, Indiana Jones and the Golden Fleece (1994) #1-2, Indiana Jones and the Arms of Gold (1994) #1-4, Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix (1994) #1-4, Indiana Jones and the Sargasso Pirates (1995)#1-4, Indiana Jones and the Shrine of the Sea Devil (1994) #1, Indiana Jones and the Spear of Destiny (1995) #1-4, Indiana Jones Adventures (2008) #1-2, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) #1-2, Indiana Jones and the Tomb of the Gods (2008) #1-4.
Marvel 20th Century Fox Omnibus Mapping: Planet of the Apes Omnibus Maps
I famously know NOTHING about Planet of the Apes, so guru of all Near Mint Condition knowledge James stepped in with these maps!
Planet of the Apes Magazine (1974 – 1977)
This would collect full magazine issues from Planet of the Apes (1974) #1-39
Planet of the Apes: The Adventure Publications Comics (1990 – 1992)
This would collect Planet of the Apes (1990) #1-24, Planet of the Apes: Urchak’s Folly (1991) #1-4, Terror on the Planet of the Apes (1991) #1-4, Planet of the Apes: Blood of the Apes (1991) #1-4, Planet of the Apes: Sins of the Father (1992) #1, Planet of the Apes: The Forbidden Zone (1992) #1-4.
Planet of the Apes: The Film Tie-Ins / Prequels (2001 & on) [includes Dark Horse]
This would begin to collect The Human War #1-3 (2001), Planet of the Apes #1-6 (2001-2002), Rise of the Planet of the Apes Webcomic #1-6, Betrayal of the Planet of the Apes #1-4, Exile on the Planet of the Apes #1-4, Planet of the Apes Cataclysm #1-12, Planet of the Apes: Ursus #1-6, Before the Dawn Webcomic, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Contagion, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes #1-6, War for the Planet of the Apes #1-4, Planet of the Apes: Visionaries (OGN)
Planet of the Apes: The BOOM Comics (2011 & on)
This would begin to collect Planet of the Apes: The Long War #1-4, Planet of the Apes: The Devil’s Pawn #1-4, Planet of the Apes: Children of Fire #1-4, Planet of the Apes: The Half Man #1-4, Planet of the Apes Annual (2012), Planet of the Apes Special (2013), Planet of the Apes Spectacular (2013), Planet of the Apes Giant (2013), Planet of the Apes: The Time of Man #1, Planet of the Apes: The Simian Age #1
Planet of the Apes: Apes vs… The Intercompany Crossovers (2014 – 2018) [Star Trek. Tarzan, Green Lantern, Kong]
This would collect Star Trek/Planet of the Apes: The Primate Directive #1-5, Tarzan on the Planet of the Apes #1-5, Planet of the Apes/Green Lantern #1-6, Kong on the Planet of the Apes #1-6
Marvel 20th Century Fox Omnibus Mapping: Predator Omnibus Maps
Marvel has already complete collected Dark Horse’s classic Predator material in omnibus. However, as with Alien, Marvel has pushed ahead with several of their own Predator series.
Predator vs Marvel (2023 – 2025)
This would collect Predator vs. Wolverine (2023) #1-4, Predator vs. Black Panther (2024) #1-4, Predator vs.Spider-Man (2025) #1-4, Predator Kills the Marvel Universe (2025) #1-5
The material from Predator (2022) #1-6, Predator (2023) #1-5, Predator: Badlands (2025) #1, and Predator Bloodshed (2026) #1-5 are not quite long enough for an omnibus at this time.
Marvel 20th Century Fox Omnibus Mapping: The Simpsons Omnibus Maps
If there was ONE PROPERTY we heard voters CLAMORING for us to include in 2024 when we began to tentatively add some licensed books to the poll, it was The Simpsons.
I fully expected this to be the #1 book on the poll last year, so I was shocked when it didn’t hit the Top 60.
All of these issues were produced by Bongo comics and some “Treehouse of Horror” collections have been recently reprinted. When we researched this year’s poll, it appeared that Marvel had the go-ahead to collect these with the blessing of The Mouse. However, as of poll time, Omar seemed to have some form of conflicting knowledge!
Alas, it was too late to pull this option from the poll, so feel free to express your love for the Simpsons… but know your vote may be doomed.
DO NOT VOTE FOR THIS: Simpsons: The Bongo Comics Vol. 1 (1993 & on)
This would begin to collect Simpsons (1993) #1-245, and other related series and tie-ins including Radioactive Man.
Marvel 20th Century Fox Omnibus Mapping: X-Files Omnibus Maps
X-Files is a FOX property, which means these comics could in fact be fair game for recollection by Marvel!
X-Files: The Topps Comics Years (1995 & on)
IDW recollected almost all of this Topps material within the past 15 years, so it’s entirely plausible that Marvel could do the same.
This would begin to collect The X-Files (1995) #1-41 & ½, Special Edition (1995), & Ashcan Edition, The X-Files Digest (1995) #1-3, The X Files Afterflight (OGN), The X-Files Season 1 adaptations (Pilot, Deep Throat, Conduit, Squeeze, Shadows, Ice, Space, Fire, & Beyond the Sea), The X-Files: Ground Zero (1997) #1-4, The X-Files: Fight the Future (1998) #1, and material from X-Files / Hero Illustrated Special (1995) #1 and The X-Files Magazine (1996) #1-2.
X-Files: The IDW Years (2013 & on) [AKA Season 10 & 11]
This would begin to collect The X-Files Season 10 (2013) #1-25, The X-Files Year Zero (2014) #1-5, The X-Files Season 11 (2015) #1-8, The X-Files: Origins (2016) #1-4, The X-Files Annual 2014 & 2015, The X-Files X-Mas Special 2014-2016, Millennium (2015) #1-5 (a crossover with their TV spinoff), The X-Files: Deviations (2016) #1 & (2017) #1, The X-Files: Origins – Dog Days of Summer (2017) #1-4, The X-Files (2016) #1-17, The X-Files: JFK Disclosure (2017) #1-2, The X-Files: Case Files – Florida Man (2018) #1-2, The X-Files: Case Files – Hoot Goes There? (2018) #1-2, and material from The X-Files: Trust No One (2015) OGN
It probably could not collect a series of “Conspiracy” inter-company stories from The X-Files: Conspiracy (2014) #1-2, The X-Files: Conspiracy – The Crow (2014) #1, The X-Files: Conspiracy – Ghostbusters (2014) #1, The X-Files / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Conspiracy (2014) #1, The X-Files: Conspiracy – The Transformers (2014) #1. It may not be able to collect X-files: Funko Universe (2017) #1.
Regarding the Boom Comics Firefly Omnibus, the Deluxe Editions had exclusive short stories: Ballad of Chang-Benitez (Unification War), Queen of the Night (Blue Sun Rising), and The Appointment (Return to the Earth That Was). By the way, the Blue Sun issues were numbered 0-1, not 1-2.
Great catch! I added these. You were reading these posts as quickly as I was getting them out!
