college

October 8, 2000 by krisis

I think i’m actually joining our subversive school paper, The Triangle. I’ve been flirting with submission for over a year now, but i finally just sent them my first review (which should be in the Crush section of my site somewhere). We’ll see if they can suck me into their web of cynicism and sleeplessness this semester while i’m not doing theatre…

I think my goal for the day is to get some fresh links from other blogs. Ever since i went into hibernation with the start of classes it’s as if i feel off the face of the earth (when really i just fell off the face of P.B), and it’s not any fun at all. Blogging can be at its best as a frantic exchange of compliments and hissy fits over the spread of several pages that a bewildered reader has to hunt down one by one. And no, i’m not talking about that idiot incessant cliqueness that some blogs have with other blogs, i just mean flurries of interrelated posted activity ending with a loud raspberry or a deserved permanent link on my sidebar. Yes, i want one of those days!

Crap, i’m due for a Trio, aren’t i? I tried to get it over with yesterday but i had lost my voice the nite before in heated discussion with my mother. All of my theory and aural classes have left me basically loathing the moment where i strum my guitar and sing; out of over 100 songs that i’ve written there’s nary a one that i enjoy playing right now. Blargh. Someone please request something. Anything. Just don’t make me play my songs….

Erm, so, having met the greater part of the Freshmen class, i have little crushes on a few of them. Already mentioned was “the cute girl” whose compatibility with me is irrelevant since she’s too perfect looking for me to ever approach. But, aside from her there’s plenty of people i have had fleeting flirting moments with, and now it’s sorta getting to a point where i should commit and flirt with people or just give it up. Did i mention how awful my life is? But, today was nice … i actually learned things in 3 out of 5 classes. Which means it must have been a good day. Also, i had another late lunch with Laurel, who i adore. All last year i kept telling her that i wanted to spend more time talking to her and now i finally have the chance. She’s one of the most wonderful people i have ever met, and i’m so glad to have the chance to get to know her a little better.

I won’t know if i got a callback for our Tom Stoppard plays until i get back to campus from work, so when i next talk to y’all i’ll either be free of obligation for the rest of the term or saddled with a fun role in our Fall show. Dunno which i’d prefer….
