X of Swords

This Week in X of Swords, Week 10, Part 2: The Grand Finale in X of Swords Destruction #1!

November 27, 2020 by krisis

We’ve reached the end of X of Swords!

Join Peter, Tyler, and Fariha as we tackle a super-sized discussion of the supersized X of Swords Destruction – the final chapter of this 22-part epic.

Who fights, who lives, who dies, and who returns? And, who did we think the MVPs of this entire event have been? We cover ever possible angle of this grande finale as we dissect the fist-pumping moments and sudden reversals, plus the status quo of our many sword-bearers, our XoS MVPs, and what we’re looking forward to next in Reign of X!

This Week in X of Swords, Week 10, Part 1: The Quiet Council fractures in X-Men #15 & Excalibur #15!

November 26, 2020 by krisis

The final week of X of Swords is so huge we had to break it in two!

Join Peter, Tyler, and Fariha as we dissect two of the three X-Men comics of 25 November, 2020 – X-Men (2019) #15 and Excalibur (2019) #15. They’re the 20th & 21st chapters of X of Swords, and they’re packed with political debate and action on the battlefield.

We have a lot to discuss about the tensions amongst the Quiet Council as one of their members wants to lead a more X-Men-esque heroic mission. Plus: the price of utopia, and what it means to be a mutant (vs. being an X-Man).

Recapping X of Swords, Week 9: X-Force #14, Hellions #6, and Cable #6 | This Week in X

November 19, 2020 by krisis

Join Peter, Tyler, and Fariha as we dissect the penultimate ninth week of X of Words in the X-Men comics of 18 November, 2020 – X-Force (2020) #14, Hellions (2020) #6, and Cable (2020) #6.

They’re the 17th, 18, & 19th chapters of X of Swords, and it’s all about duels and double-crosses. We discuss Sinister’s duplicitous plans, ponder whether we’re eager to see the resurrection process go awry, and charge through a lightning round chat about EVERY ONE of the tournament match-ups this week.

Plus, Fariha brings along a special surprise!

Recapping X of Swords, Week 8: Marauders #15, Excalibur #14, & Wolverine #7 | This Week in X

November 12, 2020 by krisis

Join Peter, Tyler, and Fariha as we dissect the eighth week of X of Swords in the X-Men comics of 11 November, 2020 – Marauders (2019) #15, Excalibur (2019) #14, & Wolverine (2020) #7.

They’re the 14th, 15, & 16th chapters of X of Swords, and the duels have finally begun – but, do they all contain the crossed swords we were expecting? We discuss dinner etiquette, double-crossing schemes, how Doug is neither a lover nor a fighter, and which duel we all loved to hate. Plus, we have a LOT to say about the artwork this week!

Recapping X of Swords, Week 7: X-Men #14 and Marauders #14 | This Week in X

November 5, 2020 by krisis

Join Peter, Tyler, and Fariha as we dissect the seventh week of X of Swords from 4 November, 2020 – X-Men (2019) #14 and Marauders (2019) #14.

They’re the 12th and 13th chapters of X of Swords, but does it feel like we’re really more than halfway through this mega crossover event? Tyler brought the receipts on the panel-by-panel breakdown of X-Men #14, we discuss repetition as a storytelling device, and we debate all of the dinner-party interactions in Marauders #14.
