It’s the most wonderful time of the year for Marvel Omnibus fans – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every Marvel UK omnibus that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.
For the next two weeks, I’ll be covering Marvel’s entire publishing history by mapping missing omnibus volumes to fill in every gap in your Marvel oversize shelf! That’s all leading to the kickoff of the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot on Near Mint Condition on April 28, 2025.
We have just two Marvel UK omnibuses so far – the massive Captain Britain Omnibus with all of his pre-Excalibur appearances and the subsequent Knights of Pendragon Omnibus (in which Captain Britain also appears).
For this post, we’re just going to focus on Marvel’s own Marvel UK material – and not licensed Doctor Who or Transformers material, which made up the bulk of Marvel UK original content prior to 1990. We’d only need another six omnibuses to collect this completely… but there might not be more than a few hundred people who want each one of these books!
If you’re not sure of what to vote for, stick around for a list of books vetted by a gang of the biggest mapping nerds on the internet with explanations from yours truly – keeper of the most-definitive guides to Marvel’s collected editions on the planet.
Or, if you don’t care about omnibuses, just use this post to learn about Marvel’s history and find some great comics to read!
This post covers the following speculated omnibus volumes:
- Marvel UK Omnibus Mapping: The 1980s
- Marvel UK: Night Raven (1979 – 1985)
- Marvel UK: Death’s Head, The Original Years (1987 – 1991) [includes all of Dragon’s Claws]
- Marvel UK Omnibus Mapping: The 1990s

- Marvel UK: Death’s Head II (1992 – 1994)

Remember: These titles and mappings are a suggestion of how Marvel could assemble these books. They are meant to help you decide on your votes on the Tigereyes poll. Your vote on the poll is a vote in favor of Marvel creating a book with that title or covering that period, NOT an endorsement of a specific map. Maps are presented as a proof of concept and to help you build your personal reading list.

Marvel UK Omnibus Mapping: The 1980s
Marvel UK: Night Raven (1979 – 1985)
This has already been printed as a 275-page trade paperback. I don’t think there is anything other than behind-the-scenes material that could be added to expand it. Despite that, there is demand for this omnibus every year
Collects Night Raven material from Hulk Comic (1979) #1-20; Savage Action (1980) #1-4, 6, 8, 12-15; Marvel Super-Heroes (UK) (1979) #382-386 & 389-395; The Daredevils (1983) #6-11; The Mighty World of Marvel (1983) #7-17; The Savage Sword of Conan (UK) (1977) #85-92; and Captain Britain (1985) #10-12
Marvel UK: Death’s Head, The Original Years (1987 – 1991) [includes all of Dragon’s Claws]
This is a tricky book, since Death’s Head made some appearances in licensed books published by Marvel UK before he was cemented as his own character – and Marvel probably wouldn’t shell out for those reprint rights just for the mildly popular Death’s Head!
This could include the High Noon Tex one-page intro script; material from Transformers UK (1984) #113-114, 117-118, 120, 133-134, & 146-151; material from Dr. Who Magazine (1979) #135; Dragon’s Claws (1988) #4-5 & 6 (AKA Goldilux); Death’s Head (1988) #1-10; Death’s Head: Body In Question (1990) #1; and material from the Life & Times of Death’s Head trade paperback and Incomplete Death’s Head #1-12 (which reprinted material in this list beginning with Dr. Who Magazine, also adding material from Dr. Who Magazine (1979) #140 & 173, Marvel Comics Presents (1988) #76, & The Sensational She-Hulk (1989) #24).
We could add Dragon’s Claws (1988) #1-10 to fill this out, since there’s no other place it could be collected. Also, we could extend this to include Death’s Head (2019) – because… why not?
Marvel UK Omnibus Mapping: The 1990s
Marvel UK: Dark Angel (1992 – 1996) [also includes Wildthing]
Originally known as Hell’s Angel until a copyright dispute, I’ve always been enamoured with Shevaun Haldane. She had a super-cool design and a personality that distinguished her from a lot of the more-disposable Marvel UK characters.
This would primarily collect Hell’s Angel (1992) and its re-naming as Dark Angel (1992). I’d also argue that it should double-dip the Knights of Pendragon Omnibus to include all of Mys-Tech Wars (1993) #1-4, since that was primarily a crossover with Dark Angel. Also, Dark Guard (1993) was really Dark Angel’s team, so it belongs here even more than it does below in Death’s Head II or Motormouth & Killpower. Dark Angel is also in Battletide (1992) #1-4, but I think that should stay in the other hero volumes, below.
Finally, the resolution of Dark Angel’s story was only ever printed in black-and-white in Italian (I’m not joking!) in Marvel Top 6: Wild Angels (1996) OGN – so we’d need to get that translated! Plus, if we collect that, we could also collect the brief Wildthing (1993), who appears there alongside Dark Angel.
This would collect Hell’s Angel (1992) #1-5 and Dark Angel (1992) #6-16, Mys-Tech Wars (1993) #1-4, Dark Guard (1993) #1-4, and Marvel Top 6: Wild Angels (1996) OGN, to which we’d add Wildthing (1993) #1-7.
Marvel UK: Death’s Head II (1992 – 1994)
I love this wretched, misbegotten character who looks like a half-melted action figure, often drawn with disproportionate beauty by Liam Sharp!
This would primarily collect 23 issues of Death’s Head II (1992), Death’s Head II 2 (1992), Death’s Head II & The Origin of Die-Cut (1993) #1-2, and Death’s Head Gold (1993). Also, he anchors Battletide (1992) and Battletide II (1993), although you might argue to simply include them in the Motormouth & Killerpower omnibus to make that more attractive. Similarly, he is the co-lead of Dark Guard (1993) with Dark Angel, but that’s more at home in her omnibus.
Death’s Head II also made a lot of guest appearances across the Marvel UK line, including in Warheads (1992) #5-7 and Black Axe (1993) #1-3. And, while Die Cut titles and other “Death” books don’t feature him directly, they all relate to his story in some way and have their best chance of being printed if they are included here.
This would primarily collect Death’s Head II (1992) #1-4, Death’s Head II 2 #1-16, Death’s Head II & The Origin of Die-Cut #1-2, and Death’s Head Gold, as well as optionally the event books Battletide (1992) #1-4, Battletide II (1993) #1-14, and Dark Guard (1993) #1-4. To that, it may add guest appearances Warheads (1992) #5-7, Black Axe (1993) #1-3, Mys-Tech Wars (1993) #3-4,
I think it also makes sense for it to collect a further 20 issues from Die Cut vs. G-Force (1993) #1-2, Die Cut (1993) #1-4, Death Wreck (1994) #1-4, Death3 (1993) #1-4, Death Metal (1994) #1-4, and Death Metal vs. Genetix (1993) #1-2. Death’s Head doesn’t appear in these issues, but they all relate directly to him.
Marvel UK: Motormouth & Killpower (1992 – 1994)
This book would be on the slimmer side, since the main Motormouth and Killpower comics only account for 16 issues.
However Battletide (1992) and Battletide II are primarily Killpower comics, so they should definitely appear here. And, they both appear throughout Mys-Tech Wars (1993) and Dark Guard (1993), which really could be in every Marvel UK omnibus.
This would collect Motormouth (1992) #1-5, Motormouth & Killpower (1992) #6-12, Killpower: The Early Years (1993) #1-4, Battletide (1992) #1-4, and Battletide II (1993) #1-14. It could also add Mys-Tech Wars (1993) #1-4 and Dark Guard (1993) #1-4.
Marvel UK Companion (1992 – 1994) [includes Warheads, Genetix, Black Axe, etc]
This is an “everything else” volume that would collect all of the rest of the canonical Marvel UK outside of those three marquee heroes.
This would collect 18 issues of material from “The Gene Pool” – Genetix, Gun Runners, & Gene Dogs, which includes Codename: Genetix (1993) #1-6, Gene Dogs (1993) #1-4, and Gun Runner (1993) #1-6. We’d also add Death Metal vs. Genetix (1993) #1-2.
Then, it would collect 18 issues of material from Warheads from Warheads (1992) #1-14 and Warheads: Black Dawn (1993) #1-2.
Next, we’d collect 27 issues of other various in-continuity Marvel UK comics, including Black Axe (1993) #1-7, Supersoldiers (1993) #1-8, Shadow Riders (1993) #1-4, Plasmer (1993) #1-4, Digitek (1992) #1-4.
We’ve already mapped Wildthing (1993) #1-7 into Dark Angel, above. However this could also pick up Cyberspace 3000 (1993) #1-8, though it is set in the future so not in continuity with the rest of the line, to the best of my knowledge.
Night Raven had an OGN House of Cards in 1991 as well as a supporting role in Fury/Black Widow: Death Duty (my introduction to Night Raven)
I don’t know if I should thank you for telling me about the Wild Angels OGN or be mad at you for telling about it.
Also, Motormouth and Killpower appeared in a pair of Incredible Hulk issues (#408 & 409)
