New Comics & Collected Editions Releases: DC Comics – April 16 2025

April 11, 2025 by krisis

Zatanna (2025) #3, a DC Comics April 16 2025 new releaseNext week is the 16th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers DC Comics April 16 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering DC Comics April 9 2025 new releases.

This week in DC Comics: Superman Day kicks off the Summer of Superman, Absolute Rogues, Waid’s “We Are Yesterday” begins in the past, a Five Years Later reprint five years later, the sharp edges of Zatanna’s mystery, the Sonic League, conflicts explode in The New Gods, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: There are a lot of heavyweight issues out this week that I considered. Last month, picking Detective Comics gave me a surefire winner because Taylor & Janin’s run has just been that damn good. And, I’m very tempted to pick Christopher Cantwell’s Challengers of the Unknown (2024) #5 (of 5… or 6). But, I’m going with Jamal Campbell’s Zatanna (2025) #3. Last issue was wildly entertaining and gave us terrific contrast from the debut issue. Plus, there’s no one else in comics who draws quite like Campbell.

This post includes every comic out from DC Comics April 16 2025, plus collected editions in omnibus, hardcover, paperback, and digest-sized formats.

This isn’t the typical comic releases post you can find on other sites. Why? I explain each collection and review every in-continuity series with a new issue out this week. Plus, for most new releases, I’ll point you to a personally-curated guide within the Crushing Comics Guide to DC Comics to find out how to collect that title in full!

There’s no other website on the internet that can claim that.

Star Wars: Legacy of Vader (2025) #3, a Marvel Comics April 16 2025 new releaseNext week is the 16th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers Marvel Comics April 16 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering Marvel Comics April 9 2025 new releases.

This week in Marvel Comics: Tony Stark’s anti-Doom insurgency, Elektra & Ghost Rider vs. Muse, Epic Modern Widow, Godzilla vs. 70s Hulk, Aaron Wolverine reprinted, Spider-Men battle paired foes, some mysterious Superior Avengers, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: Marvel’s line is in a rough spot without many exciting comic series at the moment, so my pick of the week has to default to a Star Wars book for a second week in a row. Congratulations, Star Wars: Legacy of Vader (2025) #3, your my pick because Marvel’s superhero editorial strategy at the moment is a dumpster fire! Although, in truth, I do find this series pretty fun – as is the case anytime Charles Soule deep dives into a villain.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero - Jinx (2025) #1, an Image Comics April 9 2025 new release from Skybound EntertainmentNext week is the 15th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers Image Comics April 9 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering Image Comics April 2 2025 new releases.

This week in Image Comics: A silent Jinx from Watters & Dani, two Spawn classics collected, a major explainer in Transformers, old-lady revenge, Geiger vs. The Glowing Woman, collected Lore Remastered, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: This is a strong week of Image where I’m interested in every single book on the list, but there can be only choice for me – Dan Watters & Dani taking on my favorite Joe in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero – Jinx (2025) #1! Jinx has only popped up occasionally in Larry Hama’s relaunched A Real American Hero universe so far, so I’m looking forward to seeing her in this classic-style silent adventure.

This post includes every comic out from Image Comics this week on April 9 2025, plus collected editions. This isn’t the typical comic releases post you can find on other sites. Why? Green Lantern Corps (2025) #3, a DC Comics April 9 2025 new releaseNext week is the 15th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers DC Comics April 9 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering DC Comics April 2 2025 new releases.

This week in DC Comics: Batman’s Absolute second arc, G. Willow Wilson’s superstar Superman, Finest Batgirl, Aquaman lost in The Blue, Deluxe Fudd by King & Weeks, Snyder & Tynion’s League hits omnibus, Lantern’s journey to the center of Thanagar, the Dark Patterns of a talking tower, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: I know I’m supposed to pick Batman: Dark Patterns (2024) #5 because we are all obsessed with Dark Patterns. And I’m sure it will be amazing, especially after last month’s final page! But, folks, I am just too dang curious about another final reveal from last month – the one that’s leading into Green Lantern Corps (2025) #3. After a gorgeous and super-tense issue #2, I absolutely need to know what’s going on with Thanagar’s unexpected golden center! I’m so curious I would pay extra to read it right now.

Star Wars: Jedi Knights (2025) #2, a Marvel Comics April 9 2025 new releaseNext week is the 15th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers Marvel Comics April 9 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering Marvel Comics April 2 2025 new releases.

This week in Marvel Comics: Epic ROM, Ultimate Loki, the end of Forever for Aaron’s Avengers, pre-Prequel Jedi Knights, Wolverine & Revolution wrap their road trip, Strange in Asgard, Gwen in Space, a pair of bad From the Ashes trades, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: As much as I am intrigued about where we left off in Doctor Strange of Asgard (2025) last month, this pick is absolutely Star Wars: Jedi Knights (2025) #2! Marc Guggenheim blew me away with what might’ve been my favorite Star Wars comic issue of all time. Was that a fluke? Can he possible do it again next week?! I can’t wait to find out.
