The HiX-Men Report: Powers of X (2019) #6

October 12, 2019 by krisis

All good things must come to an end and, sadly, so must the HiX-Men Report. Watch our parting shot at Jonathan Hickman’s X-Men epic.

What did we think about the one last reveal that opened this issue? And, is the franchise now destined for better things thanks to Hickman?

The HiX-Men Report: Powers of X (2019) #5

September 27, 2019 by krisis

After a contentious week last week, The HiX-Men Report returns to a more harmonious state with Powers of X (2019) #5.

This episode was a lot of fun to record! We were in a more cheerful disposition in general, plus how can you go wrong with an issue centered on a few of these deliciously snarky characters. Also, I got to deliver a “Peter’s Art History Corner” about my favorite work of art in the entire world! Plus, Fangirl gave us a major history lesson.

Oh, and I found a reason to unpack my electric guitar…

The HiX-Men Report: Powers of X (2019) #4

September 13, 2019 by krisis

There is something very sinister going on with the HiX-Men Report this week, as we return to Powers of X to delve into one of the most nuanced issues yet. This episode’s discussion of colonialism is one of my favorite sequences from all of our panels to date!

The HiX-Men Report: Powers of X (2019) #3

August 23, 2019 by krisis

The HiX-Men Report assembles with special guest (and super X-fan) Omar from Near Mint Condition to tackle this action-packed issue, which ends with an absolutely stunning reveal … that we anticipated last week! Still stunning, though.

Plus, it’s the debut of “Zach’s Biblical Corner,” which gives us the theological perspective on Hickman’s thematic work – complete with a theme song from yours truly!
