Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll 2025

Every Missing X-Men Omnibus from 2001 – Present, Mapped | 13th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

April 21, 2025 by krisis

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2025 X-Men Krakoa Omnibus MappingIt’s the most wonderful time of the year for Marvel Omnibus fans – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every X-Men omnibus from 2001 to present that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

To be very clear, this post only deals with books with “X-Men” in the title! Other X-Teams will be in one of my upcoming posts.

For the next two weeks, I’ll be covering Marvel’s entire publishing history by mapping missing omnibus volumes to fill in every gap in your Marvel oversize shelf! That’s all leading to the kickoff of the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot on Near Mint Condition on April 28, 2025.

Just counting omnibuses with the actual word “X-Men” in the title, we’ve had a staggering ten announced for 2025 or early 2026. But, see if you can spot the pattern in these books: X-Men: Blue & Gold – Mutant Genesis, X-Men: Onslaught Aftermath, Cosmic X-Men, X-Men by Marc Guggenheim All-New X-Men by Brian Michael Bendis, Uncanny X-Men by Brian Michael Bendis, X-Men: Age of Krakoa – Dawn of X Vol. 1, X-Men by Al Ewing, X-Men by Gerry Duggan, X-Men: Fall of The House of X / Rise of The Powers of X.

Plus, a reprint of the House of X / Powers of X oversize hardcover – a rare occurence! And, without X-Men in the name but still collecting X-Men issues is Phoenix: The Death And Rebirth of Jean Grey.

All but two of those omnibuses focus on the period covered in this post! We suddenly have coverage for the orphaned Young X-Men (2008), a complete omnibus map of Brian Bendis’s X-Men, all of X-Men Gold (2017), half of the four major legs of Krakoan continuity from 2022-2023, and a Krakoa-era anthology line!!!

That’s a lot of X-Men books! But, weirdly, about half of them were not very hotly demanded – both on the poll and by fans in general.

I think that’s a good thing. It shows that Marvel is pacing themselves when it comes to X-Men books and that they know they still have some major, fan-pleasing runs to release in the coming years.

If you’re not sure of what to vote for, stick around for a list of books vetted by a gang of the biggest mapping nerds on the internet with explanations from yours truly – keeper of the most-definitive guides to Marvel’s collected editions on the planet.

Or, if you don’t care about omnibuses, just use this post to learn about Marvel’s history and find some great comics to read!

This post would not be possible without research, mapping, and writing from JM21, a major CK supporter and a massive, massive X-Men fan! I have been mapping and re-mapping these books on my own for more than a decade and JM21’s fresh perspective helped me finally and for the first time land on a map of 2010 to 2012 that makes complete sense!!! JM21 is also a supporter of the UK charity Men Walking & Talking, which helps to create safe space for men to discuss their mental health and wellness. If you love this post and have a bit of extra comics cash you can spare consider donating the Men Walking & Talking today!

Every Missing X-Men Omnibus from 1963 – 2000, Mapped | 13th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

April 21, 2025 by krisis

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2025 X-Men 1963 - 2000 Omnibus MappingIt’s the most wonderful time of the year for Marvel Omnibus fans – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every X-Men omnibus from 1963 to 2000 that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

To be very clear, this post only deals with books with “X-Men” in the title – and only through 2000! Books from 2001 will be in a post later today.

Plus, plus a reprint of the House of X / Powers of X oversize hardcover – a rare occurence! And, without X-Men in the name but still collecting X-Men issues is Phoenix: The Death And Rebirth of Jean Grey.

Look at all of those books one more time and then try to spot the theme.

If you said “only one those collect newly-oversized material from before the year 2000,” you get a free milkshake!

Well, it’s not actually free. You’re going to have to buy it yourself. But… it’s a milkshake!

Only X-Men: Onslaught Aftermath collects previously non-oversize pre-2000 material. X-Men: Blue & Gold – Mutant Genesis collects some 90s X-Men in an outstandingly well-mapped way. And, Phoenix: The Death And Rebirth of Jean Grey does collect some newly-oversized mid-00s material (though I’d still want to see it elsewhere). But, Marvel’s attention in this slate of books is mainly on the period from 2013-2024.

That means we still have some major books to pick off to fully collect the rest of the two flagship X-Men titles through the year 2000, after which the line relaunched with New X-Men (2001) and X-Treme X-Men (2001). Plus, there are still many recollections of existing oversize material we could wind up seeing – including more classic Uncanny X-Men Masterworks omnibuses, more line-wide omnibuses, and two more volumes of Blue & Gold!

This post would not be possible without the help of JM21, a major CK supporter for the past decade and a massive, massive X-Men fan! I have been mapping and re-mapping these books on my own for more than a decade, and JM21’s fresh perspective got me unstuck on several persistent mapping annoyances in the X-line. Every Spider-Verse Omnibus Mapped | 13th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

April 20, 2025 by krisis

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2025 Spider-Verse Omnibus MappingIt’s the most wonderful time of the year for Marvel Omnibus fans – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every Spider-Verse omnibus that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

What do I meant by “Spider-Verse”? Every Spider-Hero other than Spidey himself, whether that’s from our own reality or the multiverse! Plus, several of his foes… who are sometimes anti-heroes in their own right.

The Spider-Verse of friends and foes of Peter & Miles has very few omnibuses to represent it – basically, Spider-Gwen is the only other hero to score her own book! But, there’s also plenty of material from the many Spider-Women (including Jessica Drew, Julia Carpenter, Mattie Franklin, & Silk), multi-verse Spiders (including Spider-Ham, Spider-Girl, & Spider-Man Noir), plus allies (like Slingers, Arana, & Spider-Boy) and villains (like Doc Ock, Green Goblin, & Kraven).

The book titles and mapping in this post were curated with the help of Steve Ellis (AKA DBZALLSTAR). Steve is a supporter of the charity Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) – which just successfully fought to have comics restored to library shelves just outside of my beloved Philly! If you love this post and have a bit of extra comics cash you can spare consider donating the CBLDF today!

Every Missing Carnage & Venom Omnibus, Mapped | 13th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

April 20, 2025 by krisis

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2025 Venom Omnibus MappingIt’s the most wonderful time of the year for Marvel Omnibus fans – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every Carnage & Venom omnibus that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

This year we’re getting one of the most massive Venom omnibuses – both in physical size and in impact on filling the gaps in his oversize coverage. The Agent Venomnibus will collect the entire run of Agent Venom both in Earth and in space from 2011 to 2015! I have a few quibbles with some extra content it could have included (including the Klyntar origin from Guardians of the Galaxy (2013), but few people suspected that Marvel would push to fit Venom: Space Knight (2015) into this book and that’s exciting!

What does that mean for Venom’s coverage in omnibus? We’re just two books away from unbroken coverage from 1994 to 2021, and then we can continue with two more books to reach the present day! Meanwhile, in Carnage Omnibus news, it’s time for both a “Volume 0” to establish his origins and a Volume 2 to continue collecting his comics from 2017 to present.

Every Missing Spider-Man Omnibus, Mapped | 13th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

April 20, 2025 by krisis

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2025 Spider-Man Omnibus MappingIt’s the most wonderful time of the year for Marvel Omnibus fans – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every Spider-Man  omnibus that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

Mapping Spider-Man omnibuses is one of the most-massive undertakings in the Marvel Universe. Spidey has the most-popular line of omnibuses other than X-Men by any metric you’d like to use – number of releases, sales, and votes on the poll.

Spider-Man omnibuses announced for 2025 have included The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 6, Web of Spider-Man Vol. 1, Spider-Man by Michelinie & Bagley Vol. 2, Spectacular Spider-Man by DeMatteis & Buscema, Spider-Man: Gang War, Spider-Man by Joe Kelly, and Symbiote Spider-Man by Peter David.

That’s seven Spider-Man omnibuses in one year – and that’s just counting Marvel-616 continuity Spider-Man!

So, how close are we to total Spider-Man coverage in omnibus? The 26 options below get us pretty close, but at points we couldn’t map any further because of our guidance not to map more than one volume into a run where Marvel’s collection strategy is unclear. Taking into account the books we can’t credibly speculate on, I’d say we are less than 35 omnibuses away from total, line-wide coverage of every in-continuity solo Spider-Man comic.

That sounds like a lot, but at Marvel’s current pace of release it’s only five more years!

The book titles and mapping in this post were curated with the help of Steve Ellis (AKA DBZALLSTAR). Y’all, I do not know my Spider-Man publishing history the way I do with X-Men and Avengers. You do not understand the intense dread with which I approach trying to explain 80s, 90s, and early-00s Spider-Man… even in my own comic guides! It was so helpful to have a Spidey-Fan like Steve set the boundaries for what these books could be. Steve is a supporter of the charity Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) – which just successfully fought to have comics restored to library shelves just outside of my beloved Philly! If you love this post and have a bit of extra comics cash you can spare consider donating the CBLDF today!
