Every Missing Thor Omnibus, Mapped | 13th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for Marvel Omnibus fans – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every Asgard & Thor omnibus that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

For the next two weeks, I’ll be covering Marvel’s entire publishing history by mapping missing omnibus volumes to fill in every gap in your Marvel oversize shelf! That’s all leading to the kickoff of the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot on Near Mint Condition on April 28, 2025.

We’re getting a major Thor omnibus later this year – The Mighty Thor Vol. 5 from his classic line! That brings us just two volumes away from a continuous oversize shelf that reaches Walt Simonson’s material. Meanwhile, 2024 brought us two modern Thor omnibuses in Thor by Straczynski & Gillen and Thor by Cates & Klein – which mean we now also have continuous coverage of Thor from 1998 to 2023!

That makes Thor perhaps Marvel’s most well-collected major character out of all of its Silver Age heavyweights. What’s left to collect? A handful of classic volumes we can safely map, the 90s, and many Asgardian supporting characters… but not Loki, who has now been covered quite comprehensively in oversize format!

This week in Marvel Comics: Godzilla invades the Marvel U, X-Manhunt is over (hooray!), Scarlet Witch gets Masterworked, Daredevil wraps his neverending deadly sins, Ultimate Gambit & Kitty Pryde, DWJ’s Beta Ray Bill back to print, Red Hulk breaks out, Old Republic Legends reprinted, whatever the Pooluminati are, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: It’s is a very tight call to make this pick over two books resolving cliffhangers that have been on my mind all month, but I have to give it to Ultimate Wolverine (2025) #3 debuting Ultimate Gambit and Kitty Pryde! This book is becoming the de facto “Ultimate X-Men” since the actual Ultimate X-Men (2024) isn’t much of a traditional X-Men title. However, I very nearly picked Red Hulk (2025) #2 or Ultimate Spider-Man (2024) #15 given how both of their prior issues left off last month.

Captain America, Iron Man, & Thor Omnibus Mapping for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 12th Annual Secret Ballot

Until April 5, I’ll be loosely mapping missing and most-wanted Marvel omnibus volumes every day! Today I’ll be looking at all of the omnibuses that don’t yet exist for Marvel’s holy trinity of Avengers – Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor (including other Asgardian heroes).

This post explains titles and potential Captain America, Thor, & Iron Man Omnibus Mapping for entries on the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 12th Annual Secret Ballot. You can vote right now (until 5 April 2024 @ midnight US ET) or watch our mega-length announcement stream reviewing every single voting option.

All three of Marvel’s trinity of prime Avengers have had their own multiple-installment movie franchises, which means they uncoincidentally have some of the best omnibus coverage of every Marvel solo hero (except for Moon Knight!). But, each of these characters still need more than a handful of additional omnibuses to cover their entire comic lines from their debut to present day. Plus, we’ll look at a quintet of supporting Asgardian heroes – Beta Ray Bill, Thunderstrike, Valkyrie, Jane Foster, and Angela.

Guide to Beta Ray Bill

Beta Ray Bill is one of those comic characters who has confounded me while seeming very, very cool.

That’s because I’ve never read the sublimely legendary Walt Simonson run on Thor in full. Yes, yes, I know, how could I, how dare I, etc. In my defense, I used to own the omnibus, but I’m not a fan of the updated modern colors – so, when Marvel announced their Epic Collections in 2014 I decided I’d simply hold out to read it in Epic.

Here we are almost a decade later and I’m still holding out, so it was time to remedy the situation and read his origins (and every other issue he has every appeared in) for this Beta Ray Bill guide.

Even having read a fair amount of his appearances before this point, I had questions. First of all, why is he a walking horse-person who is dressed like Thor? What is going on with his golden hammer?
