New Comics & Collected Editions Releases: DC Comics – April 16 2025

April 11, 2025 by krisis

Zatanna (2025) #3, a DC Comics April 16 2025 new releaseNext week is the 16th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers DC Comics April 16 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering DC Comics April 9 2025 new releases.

This week in DC Comics: Superman Day kicks off the Summer of Superman, Absolute Rogues, Waid’s “We Are Yesterday” begins in the past, a Five Years Later reprint five years later, the sharp edges of Zatanna’s mystery, the Sonic League, conflicts explode in The New Gods, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: There are a lot of heavyweight issues out this week that I considered. Last month, picking Detective Comics gave me a surefire winner because Taylor & Janin’s run has just been that damn good. And, I’m very tempted to pick Christopher Cantwell’s Challengers of the Unknown (2024) #5 (of 5… or 6). But, I’m going with Jamal Campbell’s Zatanna (2025) #3. Last issue was wildly entertaining and gave us terrific contrast from the debut issue. Plus, there’s no one else in comics who draws quite like Campbell.

This post includes every comic out from DC Comics April 16 2025, plus collected editions in omnibus, hardcover, paperback, and digest-sized formats.

This isn’t the typical comic releases post you can find on other sites. Why? I explain each collection and review every in-continuity series with a new issue out this week. Plus, for most new releases, I’ll point you to a personally-curated guide within the Crushing Comics Guide to DC Comics to find out how to collect that title in full!

There’s no other website on the internet that can claim that.

Absolute Wonder Woman (2024) #6, a DC Comics March 26 2025 new releaseNext week is the 13th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers DC Comics March 26 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering DC Comics March 19 2025 new releases.

This week in DC Comics: Camp’s Absolute Martian Manhunter debuts, Gunn’s Peacemaker, Taylor & Co’s final Nightwing collected, Diana’s Sovereign face-off concludes, Lex breaks bad, Golden Batman & Promethea reprints, Justice League tries to extinguish Inferno, a foul Harley Quinn one-shot, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: There’s only one answer for me – the reunion of one of my favorite creative teams of the past decade of comics, Kelly Thompson and Mattia De Iulis on Absolute Wonder Woman (2024) #6! To be fair, I’m also pretty damn excited about the continuing story in Green Arrow (2023) #22, but I absolutely lose my mind over any art from Mattia De Iulis, so seeing him credited on a Wonder Woman book is a dream come true for me!!!

This post includes every comic out from DC Comics March 26 2025, plus collected editions in omnibus, hardcover, paperback, and digest-sized formats.

Detective Comics (1937) #1095, a DC Comics March 19 2025 new releaseNext week is the 12th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers DC Comics March 19 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering DC Comics March 12 2025 new releases.

This week in DC Comics: Absolute Flash debuts, two generations of Robins in peril, Zatanna vs. ghosts of magic past, Finest Bronze Age team-ups, Nightwing does a heist, the Justice League races to defeat Darkseid with Sonic, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: This is a surprisingly close call, as there are several comics in this week’s pull that I am very excited to read more of – especially Jamal Campbell’s Zatanna (2025) #2! However, my undisputed winner of the week is Detective Comics (1937 / 2016) #1095. Every time I think back to last issue and where we left Damian my heart starts racing all over again. When I can still remember every page of one of 200+ new issues I’ve read in the past month, we’ve got a winner on our hands.

Batman: Dark Patterns (2024) #4, a DC Comics March 12 2025 new releaseNext week is the 11th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers DC Comics March 12 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering DC Comics March 5 2025 new releases.

This week in DC Comics: Absolute destruction of Krypton, Finest Suicide Squad, Arrow in Omnibus, Black Lightning’s last strike, a new case full of Dark Patterns, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: This is too hard… there are two books that have been embedded in my Top 10 out this week! But, after a long deliberation, I think I have to pick Batman: Dark Patterns (2024) #4 over Absolute Superman (2024) #5. Dark Patterns just wrapped up a very satisfying first arc in three issues, whereas Absolute Superman is alternating a main story with origin issues – a publishing strategy I’m not wild about, even if all of the content is absolutely stellar.

This post includes every comic out from DC Comics March 12 2025, plus collected editions in omnibus, hardcover, paperback, and digest-sized formats.

Superman (2023) #23, a DC Comics February 26 2025 new releaseNext week is the 9th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers DC Comics February 26 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering DC Comics February 19 2025 new releases.

This week in DC Comics: Absolute Wonder Woman wraps up an arc, Taylor’s Batman gets more entangled, Morrison & Millar’s Flash goes Deluxe, Harley Pygs out, Spurrier’s very hard Hellblazer, Lois Lane is a super time-traveller, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: Joshua Willamson’s Superman (2023) #23 had reached the rare point that I’m thinking about the book randomly during unrelated moments of my day, wondering where he will take things next. I’m a sucker for a Doomsday story, especially one that plays with his origins and purpose. This is about as fun as Superman gets for me! However, it was a very close call between picking this and Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween (2024) #5 (of 10) – featuring The Joker as rendered by Bill Sienkiewicz.

This post includes every comic out from DC Comics February 26 2025, plus collected editions in omnibus, hardcover, paperback, and digest-sized formats.
