Every Missing Catwoman, Poison Ivy, & Harley Quinn Omnibus, Mapped | 2025 Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus Poll

May 15, 2025 by krisis

Most Wanted DC Omnibus - Catwoman & Harley Quinn Omnibus MappingIt’s time to map the DC Universe! In June, I’ll be joining with Near Mint Condition to launch the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 2nd Annual Poll! This post explains every Catwoman, Poison Ivy, & Harley Quinn omnibus that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

Through the end of May I’ll be covering DC entire publishing history by mapping missing omnibus volumes to fill in every gap in your DC oversize shelf! That’s all leading to the kickoff of the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 2nd Annual Poll on Near Mint Condition the first week of June.

The Gotham City Sirens – AKA Catwoman, Poison Ivy, & Harley Quinn – are somewhat under-served in the omnibus department. We have a stellar Ed Brubaker run on Catwoman, their shared series as the Sirens, and a trio of Jimmy Palmiotti & Amanda Conner omnis for Harley.

But, we don’t have any classic Catwoman or Ivy stories, none of Catwoman’s lengthy 90s series or the run after Brubaker, and none of Harley’s early comic years – not to mention modern omnibuses beyond Palmiotti/Conner’s work.

New Comics & Collected Editions Releases: Image Comics – May 7 2025

May 3, 2025 by krisis

Blood & Thunder (2025) #1, an Image Comics May 7 2025 new release from Skybound EntertainmentNext week is the 19th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers Image Comics May 7 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering Image Comics April 30 2025 new releases.

This week in Image Comics: Kirkman’s Blood & Thunder debuts, a new arc for Kaya, a final arc for Farmhand, the Moon is nearly done following us, recollected Invincible, Snake-Eyes goes undercover, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: Since I’m not caught up on Kaya (2022) I can’t pick the start of it’s new arc! Failing that, I think I have to go with Blood & Thunder (2025) #1, which sounds like a sci-fi take on Fairlady (2019) – on of my favorite Image books of the past decade.

This post includes every comic out from Image Comics this week on May 7 2025, plus collected editions. This isn’t the typical comic releases post you can find on other sites. Why? I explain each collection and comment on every series with a new issue out this week to help you figure out if they’re for you.

Plus, for some long-running series and Image Comics imprints, I’ll point you to a personally-curated guide within the Crushing Comics Guide to Indie Comics to find out how to collect that title in full!

There’s no other website on the internet that can claim that.

And now, onto Image Comics May 7 2025 new releases!

New Comics & Collected Editions Releases: Image Comics – March 19 2025

March 15, 2025 by krisis

Bug Wars (2025) #2, an Image Comics March 19 2025 new releaseNext week is the 12th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers Image Comics March 19 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering Image Comics March 12 2025 new releases.

This week in Image Comics: More Bug Wars, the end of a Deviant, Adventureman’s family tree branches out, Power Fantasy’s “Second Summer of Love” explodes onto the scene, Saga’s second season concludes, Shadowhawk guests with the Blood Squad, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: This is impossibly hard. The Power Fantasy (2024) #7 is one of my Top 10 comics promising a major, world-defining revelation. The Rocketfellers (2024) #4 promises to reveal more about what drives its lovable family. Saga (2012) #72 ends the second season of the powerhouse series! But for me, I think my most-anticipated book is Bug Wars (2025) #2 from Jason Aaron, Mahmud Asrar, Matt Wilson, & Becca Carey. Issue #1 was so perfectly developed both on the fantastical and human side of things, and it brought us right up to the point where those two worlds clash. I can’t wait to read more.

This post includes every comic out from Image Comics this week on March 19 2025, plus collected editions. This isn’t the typical comic releases post you can find on other sites. Why? There’s no other website on the internet that can claim that. In fact, if you are a Patron of CK you might notice a couple of guides in this post I’ve never mentioned before…

Batman Family: Batgirl, Robin, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, & Nightwing Omnibus Mapping for the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 1st Annual Poll

May 14, 2024 by krisis

Most Wanted DC Omnibus - Batman Family Batgirl Catwoman Nightwing Omnibus MappingThe Batman Omnibus Mapping will continue until morale improves! And, well, if morale is already high, I’m going to keep it up anyway. I’ll be loosely mapping missing and most-wanted DC omnibus volumes every day until May 19th! Then, on the 19th, I’ll be joining with Near Mint Condition to launch the first annual Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus Annual Poll! This post covers the extended Batman Family – Azrael, Batgirl, Robin, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, & Nightwing Omnibus mapping and more, including suggestions for villain omnibuses!

This post explains potential Batman Family Omnibus Mapping for votes on the Tigereyes Most Wanted DC Omnibus 1st Annual Secret Ballot. I’m posting all of these maps before the poll begins to give people the time to consider their favorites, correct our mapping mistakes, and catch books I might have missed.

If you don’t know DC well enough to know what to vote for, stick around for my explanations! Learn why the team behind the poll decided on these books and titles – including giving us feedback if we missed the mark.

If voting is now open, you can use this as your crib sheet! Or… just find some great comics to read!

Remember: These mappings are just my suggestion of how DC could assemble these books. They are meant to help you decide on your votes and build your personal reading list, but your vote on the poll is NOT an endorsement of my specific map. It’s a vote in favor of DC creating a book with that title or covering that period.

High-effort, heavily-researched, over-the-top comics posts like this one are made possible via the support of Patrons of Crushing Krisis. For less than the cost of a single comic issue a month you can fuel my in-depth comics coverage, plus gain access to dozens of exclusive collecting guides & reading orders – including all of the Crushing Comics Guide to DC Comics.

Review: Red One, Vol. 1 – Welcome To America by Dorison, Dodson, & Dodson

September 19, 2015 by krisis

Terry Dodson’s art occupies a space between cartoon and cheesecake. His men are muscled and smirking, his woman curvy with cheshire smiles. With his inking wife Rachel adding a slick, bold line on all of his figures his work is positively animated. That makes him a tremendous artist for a prior gig on Wonder Woman, but strange fit for some of the more grounded Marvel titles he’s graced, like Uncanny X-Men and portions of last year’s event flop Axis.

What Dodson hasn’t done much of is creator-owned work – and, why would he with the time restrictions of an artist who is in demand for Marvel’s highest-paying projects!

Yet, here his is, collaborating with French author Xavier Dorison. Together they’re penning a Communist superhero invading America in the late 70s to preserve its hedonism, a take surely inspired by The Americans.

How did it hold up?

Red-One-Vol01Red One, Vol. 1 – Welcome To America 1.5 stars Amazon Logo

Written by Xavier Dorison with art by Terry and Rachel Dodson

#140char review: Red One is a misguided mis-mash of 70s-worship and Cold War fetishizing, supposing the commies would win if we stayed Hedonists. Disjointed.

CK Says: Skip It

There’s a very interesting premise here: The Cold War served the ruling class of Russia as much as that of America, and the best way to extend that was to make sure America was a land of increasingly liberal hedonists. What if America was suddenly gripped by an evangelical vigilantism that threatened to plunge the country into a conservative movement bordering on Neo-Fascism? What if Russia was willing to send in their best agent – Black Widow under another name – to disrupt the trend?
