Every Missing Midnight Sons Omnibus, Mapped | 13th Annual Tigereyes Most-Wanted Marvel Omnibus Poll

April 19, 2025 by krisis Leave a Comment

Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 2025 Midnight Sons Omnibus MappingIt’s the most wonderful time of the year for Marvel Omnibus fans – time for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot! This post explains every Blade, Ghost Rider, & Midnight Sons omnibus that does NOT exist – all of which will appear as options on the 2025 poll.

For the next two weeks, I’ll be covering Marvel’s entire publishing history by mapping missing omnibus volumes to fill in every gap in your Marvel oversize shelf! That’s all leading to the kickoff of the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 13th Annual Secret Ballot on Near Mint Condition on April 28, 2025.

Maybe you didn’t realize it, but we’re in a Golden Age of Ghost Rider in omnibus! We’ve just had two volumes of his 1990s series announced for release just 13 months apart. For a series that was almost entirely uncollected as of two years ago, that’s pretty amazing.

Of course, that gives us a grand total of just four Ghost Rider omnibuses – there are so many more we need to completely cover the many iterations of the character.

Meanwhile, there’s the remainder of Marvel’s spookiest characters, many of whom are known collectively as the “Midnight Sons.” We have single omnibuses for Blade, Hellstrom, Man-Thing, Morbius, & Werewolf by Night, but all of them could use at least one more volume. Plus, Darkhold and Terror Inc. have never had an omnibus. Oh, heck, let’s throw Dracula in there, too… he turns out to hav more solo material than most of those Midnight Sons!

Should we make 2026 a very scary year for Marvel omnibuses? Let’s take a look at the mapping for Ghost Rider and all of Marvel’s horrific heroes and anti-heroes.

If you’re not sure of what to vote for, stick around for a list of books vetted by a gang of the biggest mapping nerds on the internet with explanations from yours truly – keeper of the most-definitive guides to Marvel’s collected editions on the planet.

Or, if you don’t care about omnibuses, just use this post to learn about Marvel’s history and find some great comics to read!

New Comics & Collected Editions Releases: Marvel Comics – February 26 2025

Rogue: The Savage Land (2025) #2, a Marvel Comics February 26 2025 new releaseNext week is the 9th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers Marvel Comics February 26 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering Marvel Comics February 19 2025 new releases.

This week in Marvel Comics: Red Hulk returns, Rogue & Ka-Zar, a final New Mutants Epic, the end of Ewing’s Eddie Brock, Jack of Heart Masterworks, the West Coast gets romantic, the Amazing X-Men, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: This is wild, but my pick is Rogue: The Savage Land (2025) #2! Can this be real? Is Krisis really highlighting a flashback retcon mini-series? If you read issue #1 you’d understand – as did literally every person who read this book who chimed in during my live stream review last month. Tim Seeley, Zulema Scotto Lavina, Rachelle Rosenberg, & Ariana Maher are delivering something that’s incredibly fun and that feels entirely on-voice who Rogue was at the end of Claremont’s run.

This post includes every comic out from Marvel Comics February 26 2025, plus collected editions in omnibus, hardcover, paperback, and digest-sized formats.

This isn’t the typical comic releases post you can find on other sites. Why? I explain each collection and review every series with a new issue out this week. Plus, for every new release, I’ll point you to a personally-curated guide within the Crushing Comics Guide to Marvel Comics to find out how to collect that title in full!

There’s no other website on the internet that can claim that.

Phoenix (2024) #7, a Marvel Comics January 22 2025 new release

Next week is the 4th new comic book day of 2025! This post covers Marvel Comics January 22 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering Marvel Comics January 15 2025 new releases.

This week in Marvel Comics: Ultimate Spider-Man Year Two, Battle of Jakku ends, Wanda vs Not The Bore Worms, Akihiro rides again, Books of Doom are back, a Strange Masterworks milestone, Ultraman x Avengers wraps, Phoenix vs Thanos, Herald Rogue, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: Phoenix (2024) #7! I think this series has been getting better with every issues, and the past two have delivered exactly what I want from a cosmic Jean Grey series. With Phoenix on a collision course with Thanos, this is developing into one of the biggest Jean stories of all time and I am here for it.

Storm (2024) #4, a Marvel Comics January 15 2025 new release

Next week is the 3rd new comic book day of 2025! This post covers Marvel Comics January 15 2025 new releases. Missed this week’s releases? Check out last week’s post covering Marvel Comics January 8 2025 new releases.

This week in Marvel Comics: Blade Epics hit the 90s, the Road to Onslaught re-collected, Aliens in Paradise, the Deadly Phil Coulson, an Asgardian jam, Rogue in the Savage Land, Storm vs. Doom, Ultimate Wolverine debuts, and more!

The Krisis Pick of the Week: Storm (2024) #4! With more issues, I think this series could have easily been my favorite comic of 2024. Murewa Ayodele is walking a tightrope of plot that could result in a major fall, but it feels like his balance just gets better with every issue. Having Lucas Werneck along for art helps! See below for more thoughts on this excellent solo run.

Marvel Comics January 15 2025 Collected Editions

Blade Epic Collection Vol. 2: Nightstalkers
(2025 paperback, ISBN 978-1302956547 / digital)
See Guide to Blade. The Blade Epic Collection line starts with a bang by picking him up in the 90s, recollecting Tomb of Dracula (1991) #1-4 and pressing onward to Nightstalkers (1992) #1-6. Issues #2-5 are collected here in color for the first time!

That also hints that a first Epic Collection will wind up being a slimmed down version of the Blade: The Early Years omnibus that ends on Marvel Comics Presents (1988) #64, which makes sense since it collects a heck of a lot of Tomb of Dracula (1972).

Marvel Masterworks: Ka-Zar Vol. 4
(2025 hardcover, ISBN 978-1302955601 / digital)
Damnit, I really need a Ka-Zar guide! Marvel presses on with an unexpected fourth volume of this Masterworks line that collects Ka-Zar (1974) #10-20, [Uncanny] X-Men (1963) #115-116; and material from Rampaging Hulk (1977) #9 and Marvel Fanfare (1982) #56-59.

I was truly puzzled that this is leap-frogging Ka-Zar’s entire 1981 series to pick up the later Shanna The She-Devil story from the end of Marvel Fanfare until I realized that story is told in flashback and fits here – not only in continuity, but in when Steve Gerber originally wrote the script!

That makes this an incredibly rare Masterwork that skips ahead for later material, alongside Ms. Marvel Vol. 2 (which picks up Chris Claremont’s unfinished Ms. Marvel (1977) issues that were burned off as anthology stories over a decade later). Ghost Rider & The Midnight Sons Omnibus Mapping for the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 12th Annual Secret Ballot

March 31, 2024 by krisis

Until April 5, I’ll be loosely mapping missing and most-wanted Marvel omnibus volumes every day! Today I’m continuing brief trip into the mystical side of Marvel by peering into all of the omnibuses that don’t yet exist for Marvel’s Ghost Rider – as well as the rest of the Midnight Sons!

Announcing Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 12th Annual Secret Ballot LIVE on Near Mint Condition

This post explains titles and potential Ghost Rider & The Midnight Sons Omnibus Mapping for entries on the Tigereyes Most Wanted Marvel Omnibus 12th Annual Secret Ballot. You can vote right now (until 5 April 2024 @ midnight US ET) or watch our mega-length announcement stream reviewing every single voting option.

In addition to Ghost Rider, below I’ll also cover the potential omnibus volumes for Blade, Morbius, and The Darkhold – which were all titles that were a part of the “Midnight Sons” line launched by Marvel in the early 90s!

Ghost Rider is actually one of the trickiest characters to map into omnibus! There are many reasons behind this – his publishing history, the fact that there’s not just one “Ghost Rider,” complexities introduced by crossovers and creator changes, and Marvel’s existing collected editions mapping.

Before we get started, I have to give a shout-out to VinWritesWords, who creates comics guides at Cosmic Circus! There aren’t a ton of other people out there toiling over making comic guides and mapping comic runs, so I delight in every time I meet one. Having Vin as my very remote colleague and fellow comics historian for the past two years has brought me so much joy. He has been there for a quick motivational chat through many times where I was stuck in the middle of making a guide. I love how he makes guides that are focused on streamlined reading experiences and he is one of the biggest experts on the comics internet about the characters I am covering in this post! Vin’s opinions on mapping have definitely influenced how I think about these potential omnibus volumes.

After this post, I’ll only be focusing on two more solo heroes in their own posts – Wolverine and Spider-Man! All other solo characters will be either mapped in a Solo Heroes mega-post or as part of the X-Men line mapping.

If you’re not sure of what to vote for, stick around for my explanations. Or, if you’ve already voted, learn why the team behind the poll decided on these books and titles – including some of my mistakes and regrets as one of the editors of the options on the final poll.

Or… just find some great comics to read!

Remember: These mappings are just my suggestion of how Marvel could assemble these books. They are meant to help you decide on your votes and build your personal reading list, but your vote on the poll is NOT an endorsement of my specific map. It’s a vote in favor of Marvel creating a book with that title or covering that period.

Over-the-top comics posts like this one are made possible via the support of Patrons of Crushing Krisis. For less than the cost of a single comic issue a month you can fuel my in-depth comics coverage, plus gain access to dozens of exclusive collecting guides & reading orders – including all of the Crushing Comics Guide to Marvel Comics.
